Egg Roll Recipes
You don’t only have to fill these babies with cabbage and ground sausage like at the restaurants. You really can fill with taco meat, pulled pork, or even make them into desserts with a sweet filling. We have a few favorite recipes using these fun wraps like our sloppy joe egg rolls style!
If you want to go all out you can make homemade egg roll wrappers but honestly I wouldn’t even attempt that. Store bought is my style.
Recipes for Egg Rolls Wrappers
Here are asian bean rolls from Fabulosity. If you love all the salty traditional flavors of that area you are going to love these. Easy to make vegetarian too they’re flexible in that way.
Flour, water, egg and salt is what is in the cooked version and rather simple to make. You can also find these ready made in the refrigerator section of most grocery stores.
If you absolutely cannot find any, or make them yourself you could use phyllo dough. This is usually bought frozen and once defrosted has layers of thin sheets of paper thin edible sheets.
I have used this to make our air fryer baked brie.

Non Traditional Egg Roll Fillings
Ok so dessert egg rolls are fabulous with these too. I mean you can use any sort of pie filling you want to dollop inside, roll it up and fry or make air fryer apple egg rolls.
- These Southwest version from Who Needs a Cape! You can throw these together in about 20 minutes and they’re sure to be a hit.

Egg Roll Wrapper Recipes
Another non traditional version comes from Housewife Eclectic and are buffalo wing style! Want them a bit smaller? Just use wonton wrappers with the same inners and you’re set!
You can serve them up on a baking sheet with a TON of fun sauces for dipping. Our favorites are:
- Soy sauce
- add a bit of wasabi for spice
- or Sriracha will do the trick too
- Fry sauce is fun to try
- Sriracha wings sauce is great

Recipes Using Egg Roll Wrappers
Equipment
- 1 pan
Ingredients
- 6 egg roll wrappers
- 1/2 lb ground sausage
- 1 c cheese
- 1 tbsp taco seasoning
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium high heat, when not pink add taco seasoning and coat. Remove from heat and allow to slightly cool.
- Lay egg roll wrapper on cutting board and put 2 tbsp of meat in center with a sprinkle of cheese on top.
- Fold in sides, then roll up end over the meat and to the other side. Wet end and fold up to seal shut.
- Heat oil in another skillet until hot enough to fry once dropped inside. Set filled egg roll in and brown for 2 minutes, flip and fry for 2 more min. or so on other side.
