Here is the easiest crock pot dump cake recipe you will ever find. Use any pie filling you like and it cooks all on it’s own. Amazing slow cooker dessert.
A dump cake means just that. Grab a couple ingredients, dump them into a bowl or slow cooker and bake for about 20 minutes in the oven or 3 hours slowly in the crockpot and it’s cooked to perfection. I have tried this with 1 can of apple pie filling, blueberry pie filling, and cherry….and they all turn out fantastic.
To make a crock pot dump cake you need these three things, literally that is all! I love my slow cooker and have even made chocolate crockpot cakes that are amazing too. If you’ve never made dessert like this you really have to give it a try. Here are both dump cake recipes to follow.

Both dump cake recipe ideas turn out amazing but I prefer the slow cooker method because I can throw it in, turn it on when I’m cooking dinner and when we are done, cleaned, and ready for some dessert a bit later it is there and ready for us to eat (and top with ice cream). Here’s how easy it is to make.

I have made the angel food cake mix/lemon pie filling dessert many times, delicious! If you happen to have citric acid, adding a 1/4 tsp. to the mix really gives it a flavor boost! Just be sure to not over mix. Stir just until mixed, otherwise it can come out a bit tough.
I also love using a regular cake mix and can of pie filling (no eggs!) and bake in 13×9 pan for about 30 min. at 350°.

If making the oven version, make sure your angel food cake mix is the one-step kind that just calls for mixing the mix and water. There are still a few brands of angel cake mix that have two pouches, one powdered egg whites, and one flour/sugar blend. This will not work with that type of mix!

Thanks for the helpful note, they don’t even sell that kind here.
