Ok so now I am obsessed with this new machine!! We made Ninja Foodi Dual Zone air fryer steak and potatoes the other night and it was the bomb. I have a ton of easy Ninja Foodi recipes on my site but now I have a new version to experiment with. More to share! (affiliate links present)

Ninja Foodi Air Fryer Steak Recipe

Yes you can make dinner and be done but now you can cook two different things at the same time so temperatures can vary. Before it was tricky if you wanted to make our Ninja Foodi vegetables and a protein at the same time. One would get squashed or overcooked, now this solves all of that.

Yes we still have our Ninja Foodi grill that is great for grilling indoors too but I can never have too many countertop appliances y’all. If you’re new to all of this I will help you thru all of it. Here are a few tips to start out with:

How do you use dual zone Ninja?

If you’re here because you’re looking for what we thought of this before you buy one let me share my thoughts. Believe me, I have tried a lot of products and they don’t all pass my OH MY this is amazing meter. I only share items that make my life easier, and this is definitely one of them. Works just like any air fryer except there are TWO drawers to cook different things at different temperatures!!

  1. Each basket is a bit smaller so things seem to cook faster, and get crispier than a larger space.
  2. It seems to preheat a bit faster than the other, probably because there’s a smaller space.
  3. I can cook two different things at different temperatures at the same time, so they’re done simultaneously.
    1. perfect when you want steak at two different “donenesses”
  4. You don’t have to clean out the initial pot to rotate in another dish after the first is done.

How to cook frozen steak

Just like the others you can cook frozen food in Ninja Foodi or fresh. The recipe below works with thawed but you can follow timing and temp for frozen steak in air fryer here too.

Four uncooked, frozen steaks are placed on a white tray, ready for the journey of how to cook frozen steak. Nearby is a small glass bowl containing olive oil. A sprig of rosemary is partially visible in the background alongside two white containers, likely for seasoning.

Now the seasonings are totally up to you, but our Asian steak marinade is pretty amazing. For a quicker solution you can throw together our steak dry rub or the old fashioned backup would just be a sprinkle of salt and pepper. I’m sure you have a favorite of your own and that won’t affect anything as far as the details go.

You literally just need the meat and seasonings to get this going. If you wanted to add something completely different to the second air fryer basket here are a few suggestions that we make often with this easy beef recipe.

Can you cook two different things in the 2 basket air fryer?

Yes! that is why this machine is the best. You can make your steak on one side and use our Air fryer corn on the cob temp. and timing on the other side. You could make some roasted potatoes, like we direct you to below in the printable recipe card.

If you are craving some carbs you could make a mini loaf of air fryer bread or French fries that are homemade. The list goes on and on and on…… basically go with whatever cooks at the same temp and basic timing and try it.

Steak in the Ninja

Use this printable for what temperature to cook steak to check and see if it’s done to your liking before taking it out. Some like it still mooing like my husband and others like myself prefer for it to be medium well done. That is why the cook time will vary so much depending on your liking as well as how thick each piece is.

If you are new to using this machine it is quite easy. You can only use one side or the other, or both at the same time. You turn each side on individually with the 1 – 2 buttons. The dial will turn to all the different methods you want.

  1. Air fry
  2. Roast
  3. Reheat, dehydrate and bake
  4. Keep Warm

It doesn’t have the pressure cooker function like their other model. You would have to get the multi function Foodi to get both of those.

Ninja Foodi Dual Air Fryer review

Honestly I just use it to make fried foods, I mean easy air fryer recipes, but there are other functions for sure. Use any and all of our air fryer recipes in this unit. Most are done in 20 minutes or less so it’s a fast way to make a complete meal.

How to Cook Steak in Ninja Dual Zone Air Fryer

  • For this one you’ll start by preheating one or both sides of your Foodi dual zone to air fry. Set to 400 degrees F. Allow to heat up for 5 minutes.
  • Season steaks as you’d like on both sides. Lay inside baskets, one per side. Close drawers and cook for a total of 12 minutes (timing will vary depending on how well done you want it to be).
  • I like to flip each one over after 6 minutes, half way, but isn’t absolutely necessary.
  • Remove, cover to keep warm, and allow to rest for 10 mintues. Top with a pat of seasoned butter and enjoy.
  • ** If you want to put 1 steak on 1 side and potatoes on the other you can do that too. Preheat to 400 still on both sides. Cube potatoes, wrap in paper towels to dry.
    • Toss with olive oil and seasonings to coat.
    • Cook 10-12 minutes tossing 3 x throughout time until they are perfectly fork tender.

Top with a pat of garlic butter and enjoy! Now jump to recipe below and get started friends.
