Mug Pizza Ingredients

You can easily load it up with whatever you like as far as toppings go but the base are refrigerated biscuits. Spaghetti sauce is an easy way to add on top with your mozzarella cheese and then you add all the toppings.

Personally we often times like to add diced mushrooms, olives, or even substitute Canadian bacon for the pepperoni.

You can make a pizza bar of sorts if there are several people and everyone can really make their own because they’re just so easy to do.

Hands holding biscuit dough over a cutting board with more dough pieces—imagine the same simplicity applied to creating pizza in a mug, transforming basic ingredients into something delightfully unexpected and easy.

Here’s my youngest helping me. I showed all of them how I created a few and then sent them off on their own so they could “do it myself”.

Can you use Rhodes frozen rolls?

You could but it does take about 30 minutes to thaw them out enough to kinda’ flatten them so they are a similar size. I will say that frozen rolls are typically a bit smaller so I would smush 2 defrosted pieces together, flatten and then continue with directions below.

Can you use pizza dough?

You could cut refrigerated pizza dough and use that instead of biscuits to make our easy mug pizza recipe here. It isn’t as thick so you would want to cut into circles and double up to be the same size but will work well as the crust for a quick 2 minute meal.

How Long to Cook Pizza in a Mug

First you are going to want to “bake” the biscuit just a bit before adding your toppings. Almost like parbaking a pie crust of sorts for just 30 seconds for a 1000 – 1200w microwave. Then you would add a spoonful of marinara sauce on top with some cheese, pepperoni and any dried herbs you want and microwave for 1 minute so it rises up and the toppings are bubbling and melted together.

Enjoy immediately! Yes you could make the dough homemade with milk and oil etc. but we are going with fast and easy here. 😉

Seriously that is how easy this single serving pizza is to make. It’s absolutely perfect when the kids need a quick meal. There are 5 of us and when it is a “make your own dinner” kinda’ night this is perfect. 8 biscuits come in a package so there’s just enough for a light lunch or dinner for us.

      1. 2 tbsp in recipe card is what I typically use but that is subjective as to how much you like

    1. I love this ideas for mug meals and deserts. Especially for traveling in our fifthwheel. I have Tupperware soup mugs I think would work great for these meals. Will try them out!
