Air Fryer Frittata

Can you tell I just couldn’t decide what to call this thing?? It’s kinda’ a cross between all three but I will just move on to the good stuff….. If you love our Bisquick zucchini quiche or our traditional one with spinach but want to make a smaller version this is a great idea for you. Using a small ceramic dish or pan it is the perfect breakfast or brunch for the two of you.

This is what we typically make after the holidays with bacon and/or leftover ham. A great way to use it up for breakfast for our family or when we have others over for brunch.

If you love extra crispy food and quick recipes, here are some resources to start with:

A close-up photo of a hand pulling out the basket of an open air fryer on a light-colored surface. The interior of the air fryer basket is empty and features a mesh design, perfect for cooking your favorite dishes like bang bang shrimp. The edge of the air fryer has a latch mechanism for securing the basket.

Ninja Foodi Quiche

You see, we have chickens. Like a lot of them. SO that means we have A LOT of eggs. Yep, eggs for breakfast, lunch and dinner around here. I am not complaining. It is one less thing to buy from there store.

I also know they are free range organic babies, every single one. If you don’t live in the boonies like we do, just buy some at the store along with your add ins and we can get going. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is what was added this go around. I mean there is great variations to this breakfast quiche according to your taste buds. Make vegetarian or a meat lovers version with bacon or other diced up meat if you like.

How long to cook frozen quiche in air fryer Ninja?

You will want to preheat to 350F. for 5 minutes while you’re unwrapping everything. Place into the basket while still frozen. Close the lid of the machine that is attached and cook for 20-23 minutes or until the center of it reaches 165 degrees F. If there is a crust you may want to cover it all the way around with foil and take that off in the last 5 minutes or it will get too brown.

Let’s get started to make this easy Cosori recipe. Use a large bowl to whip up your egg mixture. This will make one 4″ that will serve 1-2 people. You could make more and just rotate them in one at a time. Here are a few questions you might have before you get started on this baby:

Can I cook egg in air fryer?

Yes! We have done it all. Hard boiled eggs in air fryer works, along with air fryer breakfast, and now this quiche recipe we have here.

Can you heat quiche in an air fryer?

Frozen quiche that is precooked can in fact be heated in your Ninja Foodi or Cosori. Preheat for 5 minutes at 350 F, then cook for 15-20 minutes until warmed through to the center.

omelette ingredients

I have made this killer easy spinach quiche recipe for years. You could in fact use refrigerated pie crust with this filling too. Ingredients and items needed:

Ingredients

  • You’ll want non stick cooking spray to make things easier
  • Eggs
  • Milk or heavy cream
  • Shredded cheese(s)
  • Diced bell peppers and onions work great
  • Precooked finely diced ham or other meat is optional
  • Seasonings such as salt and pepper

A 4″ springform pan is what we used, you’ll want one like this or oven safe ceramic dish so you can lift it out You could add green onions to your breakfast frittata too. Remember to preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes before putting your prepared pan into your air fryer basket.

A delicious air fryer quiche with vibrant vegetables is cooking to perfection. Overhead, bold text proudly announces "Air Fryer Quiche!

How Long to Cook Quiche in Air Fryer

Including prep and preheating time keep in mind that this may take up to 20 minutes to complete, but cook time is about 10 min. It will vary slightly depending on what you add in there but that is a good guide for things.

Time needed: 8 minutes

Air Fryer Quiche

  1. Prepare

Preheat air fryer to 325 F. for 5 minutes. In a bowl whisk eggs, then add all other ingredient, stir to combine. Spray 4″ cake pan with cooking spray. so it lifts out easily Then pour egg mixture inside.

  2. Cook

Put into air fryer basket for 8-10 minutes total cook time. Timing will depend on the add-ins, the middle should be set and firmed before removing.

  3. Cool

Remove, allow to cool in pan for at least 3 minutes before removing it.

Can you cook a ready made quiche in air fryer?

You can. If you wanted to buy a frozen version at the store you would just follow the oven directions on the back but use this instead. I would cover the crust edges with foil so they don’t get too browned. Remove a few minutes near the end so they can crisp up just a bit for you.

Here is what it looks like when it is done and ready to be enjoyed!

An air fryer with a removable basket contains a delicious quiche, featuring visible ingredients like tomatoes, green herbs, and cheese. The appliance is placed on a light-colored surface.

When it comes to add ins there are several options and I always suggest you use what you love or have on hand. Using multiple cheeses will give it more flavor. As far as proteins go, I have used bits of bacon bits, or use our salmon quiche recipe for another twist on things.

What cheeses can be used in quiche?

  • Swiss is the most common
  • Gruyere is an option as well

What goes with quiche?

Salad is often times served along side a slice. Some like a bowl of tomato basil soup, and I like a slice of air fryer bread or rolls for sure. Just make your sides quick and easy I say.

frittata air fryer

I have made an omelette in a mug before but honestly, this turns out better. I love the crunchy browned top when this is done. The texture is just the best. Also it serves two, not just one serving.

If you have a Foodi you can opt to try our Ninja Foodi breakfast as well. It is similar but you don’t need a springform pan to make it which is nice.

Other favorites next to this one are our air fryer egg bites and air fryer breakfast stuffed peppers. You can load those up or make them super simple too. Instant Pot poached eggs are a close third.

  1. How do you turn the quiche over while it is still in its container. Want to make this but canโ€™t get my head around turning over the quiche in its cooking container. Please help. I love quiche and would like to cook it in my air fryer as it is my oven. Please let me know how you manage it thank you.

    1. @Ailsa, exactly…ya cannot…stir instead…it will recrisp and the time isnt long enough for that thick 3 more minutes for mine

    2. @Ailsa, quiche is usually in a crust and doesn’t require turning over. This is a crustless version. Enjoy the simplicity.
