Can You Make Buffalo Chicken Dip with Rotisserie Chicken?
Absolutely, your meat needs to be precooked before making this so if you buy one already done that will save you a bunch of time! Just dice or shred and you are ready to bake with the other ingredients in a casserole dish.
Dairy free option
You can in fact make this Dairy Free Buffalo Chicken Dip with Daiya shredded plant based cheeses if you need that option. I have done that for my husband and he says it is pretty close to the real thing. You can find lactose free cream cheese too at most stores which is hard to tell the difference in that case.
Ok so there are a lot of choices when it comes to cooking the meat. If you buy one at the store already done that is easiest, or make with leftover chicken. Just shred when stated below and proceed as normal. If you only have fresh meat you can cook that quickly a few other ways first too.
How do you cook frozen chicken to shred?
- You could boil frozen chicken until it is fall apart ready to shred with forks.
- Make some quick Instant Pot frozen chicken breasts to pull apart.
- Or make shredded chicken in pressure cooker that is already thawed.
You can dice or shred but small bite sizes are best so you can scoop easily and pop right into your mouth without cutting up.
How Long to Bake Buffalo Chicken Dip
This takes about the same time amount of time as our Pressure Cooker Crack Chicken Dip really. Another great one and even though it is done under high pressure it does time time to come to pressure so if you wanted to make both they would be done about the same time to serve.
Directions
- If your chicken is raw you will need to bake, boil or saute until it is tender enough to shred with 2 forks.
- Preheat the oven to 380 F.
- Put the pulled chicken in a saucepan with hot sauce and mix together. Heat on low heat for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add ranch sauce and cream cheese to the saucepan.
- Mix thoroughly and heat for another 2 minutes. Add half of the grated cheddar and stir, heat 2 more minutes, stirring. Transfer the buffalo chicken dip to a 9×13 baking dish
- Top with remaining shredded cheddar.
- You’re ready to bake your buffalo chicken dip recipe in the oven for 20 minutes or until the cheese is light brown and bubbly.
pressure cooker option
If you really do want to make this in a countertop pot, follow our Buffalo Chicken Dip Instant Pot with the same basic ingredients this way. This can be kept warm on that setting in a small slow cooker if guests are coming in over time. Topped with cool blue cheese crumbles added a zing to it too if you like.
What to serve with hot dip
- Crispy russet potato chips, tortilla chips, pita chips, pretzel crisps, and various types of crackers are classic choices for dipping. They provide a satisfying crunch and are ideal for scooping up creamy or chunky dips like guacamole, salsa, or spinach dip.
- Fresh crisp vegetable sticks are a healthy and colorful option. Common choices include celery sticks and carrot sticks, cucumber slices, bell pepper strips, and cherry tomatoes. These provide a refreshing contrast to creamy or savory dips like hummus with canned chickpeas or ranch dressing.
- Sliced baguette, breadsticks, or toasted bread slices can be served with a variety of dips. They are especially great for accompanying warm and cheesy dips like spinach and artichoke dip or fondue.
- If you’re looking for something unique, consider serving with heartier things like chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, or spring rolls. These can add a savory dimension to your game day experiences.
- Charcuterie-style offerings, such as sliced salami, pepperoni, or cooked sausages, can complement this. They add a meaty and salty element to the spread.
- Pickles, pickled vegetables, and a variety of olives can add a tangy and briny contrast to your bowl full of yum. They are a popular choice for Mediterranean-inspired dips.
- Roasted or toasted vegetables like asparagus, zucchini, or broccoli florets can provide a warm and earthy accompaniment to dips. They work well with hummus, aioli, or tahini-based dips.
- Create a cheese and charcuterie platter with an assortment of cheeses, cured meats, and accompaniments like grapes, figs, and nuts. Pair this platter with a variety of dips, including honey mustard, chutney, or onion dip.
- Ultimately, what you serve think of how you’re going to serve it and whether people will be walking about with it. Larger items make things more flexible. Get creative and mix and match your favorite dippers.
Remember to consider the flavor profiles and textures when pairing dips with sides. The goal is to create a balanced and enjoyable combination that enhances the overall snacking experience.
