Mug Pizza Ingredients

You can easily load it up with whatever you like as far as toppings go but the base are refrigerated biscuits. Spaghetti sauce is an easy way to add on top with your mozzarella cheese and then you add all the toppings.

Personally we often times like to add diced mushrooms, olives, or even substitute Canadian bacon for the pepperoni.

You can make a pizza bar of sorts if there are several people and everyone can really make their own because they’re just so easy to do.

Hands holding biscuit dough over a cutting board with more dough pieces—imagine the same simplicity applied to creating pizza in a mug, transforming basic ingredients into something delightfully unexpected and easy.

Here’s my youngest helping me. I showed all of them how I created a few and then sent them off on their own so they could “do it myself”.

Can you use Rhodes frozen rolls?

You could but it does take about 30 minutes to thaw them out enough to kinda’ flatten them so they are a similar size. I will say that frozen rolls are typically a bit smaller so I would smush 2 defrosted pieces together, flatten and then continue with directions below.

Can you use pizza dough?

You could cut refrigerated pizza dough and use that instead of biscuits to make our easy mug pizza recipe here. It isn’t as thick so you would want to cut into circles and double up to be the same size but will work well as the crust for a quick 2 minute meal.

How Long to Cook Pizza in a Mug

First you are going to want to “bake” the biscuit just a bit before adding your toppings. Almost like parbaking a pie crust of sorts for just 30 seconds for a 1000 – 1200w microwave. Then you would add a spoonful of marinara sauce on top with some cheese, pepperoni and any dried herbs you want and microwave for 1 minute so it rises up and the toppings are bubbling and melted together.

Enjoy immediately! Yes you could make the dough homemade with milk and oil etc. but we are going with fast and easy here. 😉

Seriously that is how easy this single serving pizza is to make. It’s absolutely perfect when the kids need a quick meal. There are 5 of us and when it is a “make your own dinner” kinda’ night this is perfect. 8 biscuits come in a package so there’s just enough for a light lunch or dinner for us.

    1. I just found this site! I am cooking for 1. My pizza change is for real Italian sausage! Grew up in Chicago area before pepperoni became a thing! It would be worth the taste to have precooked sausage in my freezer! Would have loved the ‘Mug’ recipes in my farming, working, and wife, mom years!

    2. WOW looks amazing always love your blogs keep posting like this thanks 🙂

    3. I do not even know the way I ended up right here, but I thought this
post used to be good. I do not realize who you are but
certainly you’re going to a famous blogger in case you aren’t already.
      Cheers!

    4. I’m thinking of freezing extra spaghetti sauce in ice cube trays. Seems like a cube would be about the right amount to grab for one serving. I like this pizza idea for a snack when my husband gets the munchies about 9:00 p.m.

    5. Look in the freezer section of your grocery store for frozen biscuits. You can just take out however you need and leave the rest in the freezer. You would have to let them thaw for this recipe but it’s better than wasting food.

      1. If I have too much of an item, I try to find another recipe to use so as not to waste it. For example, I use this same type of biscuit for chicken and dumplings. Comes out awesome!

    6. What would be other options for the crust? I live alone and wouldn’t want to open a tube of biscuits. I might have to try using part of a package of Pizza crust mix. Could you use a little Bisquick. Has anyone tried anything different?

      1. Frozen yeast rolls (raw) would be great and, like the frozen biscuits, could be taken out of the freezer one-at-a-time.
