How to Cook Ham in Ninja Foodi Air Fryer

If you choose to just use the air crisp mode you can make it this way in that machine, with the lid that is attached. Ninja Foodi ham with pressure cooker mode is linked at the top of this post. This is not just for the holidays though. Ham is great to cook year round.

I mean, we cook something like this and save the rest. Throughout the rest of the week I make things like Crockpot ham and potato soup with heavy cream with a few handfuls inside which is delicious.

This is the whole, smoked, precooked ham we chose from the store. From there I just made a sweet mustard glaze to pour on top to keep it moist.

A round pan containing a packaged hickory-smoked cooked whole ham sits on a counter, ready to be transformed into a delicious air fryer ham. Surrounding items include a tub of yellow mustard, a small container of brown sugar, a meat thermometer, and a cloth with a yellow floral pattern.

How to Cook a Small Ham in Air Fryer

Of course there are size restraints for this. You can see which one I chose. Store brand, cooked and smoked. You could slice this cold and use it as lunchmeat too kinda’ style. If you bought a less processed version that is fine but note that it needs to be on the smaller side of things.

What meats can you cook in an air fryer?

You can cook ALL THE THINGS in it y’all! I have made air fryer steak, pork loin in an air fryer, frozen chicken breast and air fried shrimp too. Everything comes out perfectly this way. You may have a few questions before you make this for Christmas, Easter, or for no occasion at all:

Can you cook country ham in an air fryer?

The only type you couldn’t would be one that wouldn’t fit into your basket. This needs to be measured before you purchase your piece. I have a 5.7 qt. and a whole precooked hickory smoked fit fine.

What is the best way to cook a precooked ham?

We love it air fried because you can get the insides warmed with a bit of crispy on the edges of every slice. We will show you how to do that here, with step by step directions. A great way to cook a small boneless ham year round.

How do you cook a precooked ham without drying it out?

It is all about basting it along the way, and a great flavorful glaze over the top with dijon mustard and butter. Use a temperature that is a bit lower, for longer to get the very middle warmed slowly.

The key to getting it warm all the way into the center, you’ll need to slice it beforehand.

A hand slices an air fryer ham with a grid pattern on its surface.

Boneless Ham Air Fryer Time

The total time sliced was about 40 minutes. That will vary slightly depending on how thick yours is but this is typical. I wouldn’t say that is what we did here but yes I added a mustard sauce of sorts to it. I feel like it needs something to stay nice and moist as it is heated. You could leave off though and just use a bit of water.

Some are spiral sliced in the package. Typically the smaller versions like this one are not. Use a sharp knife and make slices you would as if you were to serve it. Cut it about 3/4 of the way down leaving the bottom attached. When you pour on your mustard sauce make sure it gets in between each slice.

  1. Boneless Pre cooked ham – ours was 3.5 lbs. (I wouldn’t buy much larger)
  2. 7.5″ springform pan
    1. or wrap the ham in tinfoil but that is messier
  3. 3 ingredient ham glaze can be used or whisk ingredients below
  4. Butter
  5. Dijon mustard
  6. Minced garlic
  7. Brown sugar
  8. Water or broth
  9. Honey

I just whisk the sauce together in a large measuring cup so I can pour it on throughout the cooking process.

Can you heat up a cooked ham in air fryer?

Yes, we share step by step directions but there is a printable recipe card at the bottom of this post as well. First you will want to slice whole boneless ham 3/4 of the way down, don’t have your slices go all the way down though. Leave some attached at the bottom so it doesn’t fall apart.

In a large mixing cup or bowl melt butter, then add all other ingredients and whisk together well. Lightly spray inside of 7.5″ springform pan with non stick spray. Put ham inside and pour 1/2 of your honey glaze mixture on top and in between slices. Put foil over the top of the pan and put it inside your air fryer basket.

What temperature do you cook a boneless ham?

Whether you bake in the oven or air fry I like to warm or cook at 300 degrees F. In this small area it will only take 20 minutes cook time initially. If you want to add a glaze, open the foil, pour 1/2 of what brown sugar glaze you have left over the top. Recover and continue to cook another 20 minutes.

  • Remove top of the foil and reset temp to 360 degrees F for 5 minutes. Pour or brush the glaze over the ham (what’s left) and continue cooking for 2 minutes to brown the top.
  • When timer is up leave basket closed for 5 – 15 minutes more so insides of ham can continue to warm. Remove, slice, and serve with 1/4 cup sauce on bottom of pan poured on top.

How to Cook Ham Steak in Air Fryer

If you only want to cook one slice essentially, that won’t take long. We explain How to Cook Ham Steak several ways here. I would preheat to 350 F and cook at that temp for 4 minutes. Whip up a small bit of pineapple glaze as I listed below (just half it) so that’s ready. Once it’s as warm as you’d like take it out and drizzle your honey glaze over it and enjoy.

How to Reheat Ham Slices in Air Fryer

That’s how you make this honey baked ham in your small kitchen appliance. If you do have slices left you could add into foil with a bit of glaze or broth inside and heat at 360 for a few minutes until warmed again. You can even make an air fryer turkey breast for the next holiday to mix it up now.

Air frying the ham really does turn out great, but what if you want to pressure cook it first? Well, if you have a Ninja Foodi you can do both right in the same pot! Nutritional information will vary depending on the fat content on the piece of meat you choose.

This has a richer, stickier pineapple ham glaze that people go crazy over. Try this and our Ninja Foodi ham recipe and see which one you like best.

A sliced ham topped with a pineapple glaze is shown inside a Ninja Foodi cooker. The text "How to Cook an Air Fryer Ham in Your Ninja Foodi" is displayed at the top of the image.

The same goes for if you made the whole thing and want to reheat one or two pieces the next day. If you like adding a bit of texture on the outside this is a great way to do just that.
