Ninja Foodi Egg Bites

Who else loves Starbucks egg bites, but not the price??!! We do!! Beyond that I like to load them up with lots of bacon bits and cheese. Use egg whites only for a low fat bite, vegetables for extra texture or all the things

OR use leftover ham after the holidays to make these for brunch the next day. OH YUM. You can even throw these in WITH sausage patties in air fryer and they’ll cook together all at once.

If you love extra crispy food and quick recipes, here are some resources to start with:

A close-up photo of a hand pulling out the basket of an open air fryer on a light-colored surface. The interior of the air fryer basket is empty and features a mesh design, perfect for cooking your favorite dishes like bang bang shrimp. The edge of the air fryer has a latch mechanism for securing the basket.

Egg Bites in Air Fryer

We have made Starbucks sous vide eggs before in the Instant Pot, but you can’t get a crispy top like these. That is probably my favorite part.

Boiling hard boiled eggs in the oven is great, but we love adding cheese and bacon. Using these cute little silicone muffin cups there are TONS of possibilities and everyone can customize their own. That’s what makes it a killer protein packed start to any day.

Make an assembly line if you have guests over and make each one fresh, what a hit that would be!

So if you have this machine you can choose either our pressure cook version which will come out really tender and soft, or these. Both are great but the texture on both are opposite. I would suggest making them both and deciding which you prefer. You literally can use all the same ingredients for both.

  1. You’ll need these silicone cupcake liners
  2. Eggs
  3. Cheese
  4. Bacon crumbled, or packaged real bacon bits
  5. Onion
  6. Bell pepper
  7. Salt and pepper

Can I use silicone cups in an air fryer?

Are there other options? You can use any oven safe dish or mold in the air fryer. They can be made of glass, ceramic, metal or silicone.

You can also use silicone or paper cupcake cups or molds to bake cupcakes, muffins or small gratins. I could see adding a few diced tomatoes to your air fryer eggs too. It would be a great leftover ham recipe as well. Experiment with it and let me know if you come up with a great combination.

Can you cook eggs in the air fryer?

Yes!! Just preheat it to 270 degrees.

  • Then you can add them into the fryer basket and make air fryer hard boiled eggs.
  • You could also crack them into these silicone baking cups without any other items and cook at 300 degrees for about 8 minutes.
    • Timing will depend on whether you want soft boiled, or your yolks to be hard.

Can I use an air fryer without the basket?

I wouldn’t. You really shouldn’t put food directly on the base of the air fryer because it might hinder the circulating the air properly.

That’s what makes the food crispy and the bottom will be flat without any air flow hitting it.

  • The Bacon & Gruyere version has
    • 9 carbs
    • 19 grams protein

How long do egg bites last in the fridge?

First of all I have never had leftovers. I don’t think they would be great the day after even if I did, however if you do have some left here’s what you do.

  • You can keep these in the fridge for about 4-5 days, which is PERFECT for healthy breakfasts throughout the week.

If you see extra liquid in the bottom of your storage container because of all the vegetables don’t worry, it’s totally normal. If you want to reheat egg bites you can so in the microwave, 20 seconds should do it.

How Long to Cook Egg Bites in Air Fryer

About 10 minutes but that depends on how “well done” you want them to become. You don’t want it runny but there is a range of how solid you do want them to become. Basic steps to follow are here: First put your silicone egg cups into your air fryer basket.

  1. Crack 1 egg into each one.
  2. Sprinkle your added ingredients on top
  3. Set cook time to about 12 minutes (check after 10) at 300 degrees F
  4. Remove when golden brown on top
  5. Can put in between an English muffin to make egg muffins if you like

Alternatively you could scramble all eggs in a bowl, add diced and shredded add ins and divide egg mixture into muffin cups and cook. This will create a smoother result.

  1. hey all, i haven’t made these yet because i have a question…..how long do these keep and how do you heat them up?

    1. If you read the entire page, you will find that she tells you how to store them and reheat them.

  2. I made these tonight, and they were great. I checked one at 10 min, and it was still a little too runny in the middle. Cooked for 2 more min, and they were perfect. Yolks were set, but still creamy and slightly under-done. The egg top got a little over crispy, but I didn’t have any milk, so maybe that would make a difference. I did use the roast function on my air fryer, which really just uses a lower air circulation. We use cage free brown eggs and they are a nightmare to peel for a boiled egg, so this was an exciting find!

    1. @RedheadedMomma, Try using a DASH hard boiled egg cooker. I use very high quality eggs too and they peel like magic using the DASH. I will never boil eggs on the stove again!

  3. These are not Sous Vide.
Baked eggs, mini egg casseroles, yes.
Sous Vide is a precision cooking technique requiring special equipment. The closest you can get (unless you own the equipment) is your Instant Pot or PC Quick Cooker.

    1. @B Walter, That us what she said. She didn’t call this Sous Vide, she said she tried that in her InstaPot, and this is different.

  4. cooking at 300 degrees, is this fahrenheit or celsius My airfryer is celsius so what wouold the temperature be

  5. This was so simple to make and really yummy! I like how easy it is to make it your own by changing up what you add to the egg. I made 2 of them w/mushroom, green onion and parmesan cheese. I bet you could use crumbled ground sausage. Thanks for giving the basics on how to make these ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. I used the egg cup molds, the ones I purchased off of Amazon are deeper than traditional and it easily fits an egg, shredded cheese, diced ham, diced onion and a slice of jalapeno on top. I did have to add 3 minutes to cooking time though.

  6. Thank you for this recipe. I have some silicone cups I bought a few years ago and never used them. This is perfect. I didn’t have any bacon or other stuff but decided to make this with just some cheese, salt and pepper and a little onion powder. I did mix all the ingredients together first and whisk. I tried cracking one egg into cup first but my cups are a little small and heart shaped so it wouldn’t work. 4 eggs, 4 tsp of milk, salt and pepper and onion powder. Poured into a measuring cup then placed my cups into basket. Filled each cup and topped with a pinch of cheese. 10 min was good but might go 11-12 next time since I see a little bit of under cooked egg on 2 of them. Just filled cups a little more on those. This made 7 silicone cups for me.

  7. One egg filled a muffin cup, so I stirred 3 eggs and 3 tsp. Of milk in a measuring cup and poured that into 5 muffin cups. That gave me room to add other ingredients. Next time I will stir in the salt and pepper. These were excellent and will definitely be making them often.

  8. I give it a5 star
