Do you buy Starbucks egg bites in the morning with your coffee, well I did for a long time until I figured out how to make these pressure cooker egg bites at home!! We’ve even had them for dinner. 😉 Yet another favorite easy Instant Pot recipes we make weekly because they are so delicious.
You can add just about any ingredients you like, but this version is meat free but still full of flavor and great when you’re on the go. What is fun is you can change it up every single time you make them. Meat lovers is great, vegetarian works well too and low calorie like Instant Pot egg white egg bites works great too.
You can use any brand of machine you have for these. If you have this brand you will use the lid that is not attached to make them super tender as you see here. But you can also make our air fryer egg bites in this with the lid that is attached, so 2 for 1!

Ninja Foodi recipes are great because of this. You could also choose to melt a layer of cheese on the top with the lid that is attached at the end with this pot if you wanted to.
Ingredient Notes
I made a few batches, one with less cheese and more eggs, and this one with the opposite. We enjoyed more cheese personally but you could cut the cheese amount in half and add 2 more eggs instead if you’d rather.
If you wanted to make their red pepper version that would be easy. Just dice your veggies small, like we did with the bell peppers and fresh spinach leaves, saute and lay on paper towels so you aren’t adding oil into the mix.
Can you add bacon?
Yes, we went for a vegetarian version this time but if you had leftover meat (like cooked bacon bits or diced cooked ham) you could dice it up and add that too, I’d just cut down the cheese by 1/2 cup and add in 1/2 cup pre cooked meat you may have on hand.
Instant Pot Egg White Bites (Option)
Yes, with this one in particular you can adjust as you like using whole eggs or it is a great way of how to cook egg whites with the same diced vegetables and seasonings (but lower in fat this way).

Do you cover the egg mold with aluminum foil?
Yes, if you don’t the steam will create a lot of water on the top of your eggs. This will not only make the texture weird, but it won’t cook properly with the additional liquid added to each hole.
How do you keep egg bites from getting soggy?
If adding veggies into your Ninja Foodi breakfast, saute them inside the pressure cooker pot, or on stovetop in a pan first. When done lay on some paper towels to absorb even more moisture, that will help. When making egg bites in Ninja Foodi or other pressure cooker quickly lift the lid catching the condensation underneath too.
How Long to Cook Egg Bites in Instant Pot
The cook time is 8 minutes however there are other things to consider. You need a 4 minute natural release of the steam after that and it takes 15 minutes or so to reach pressure. So all in all you need about 30 minutes with the prep and all.

Tips for Success
Just like our larger version of Instant Pot Quiche, you always want to allow steam to naturally release for 4 minutes at the end to achieve the right fluffy texture. Take mold out immediately after that, remove foil immediately. Pop egg bites out of the mold immediately and put them on a paper towel that is placed on a plate.
There will be a bit of water at the bottom of each hole because of the steam and you don’t want the egg to sit in that too long, the texture won’t be good. I suggest putting them on paper towels at first to absorb any liquid that has accumulated at the bottom of the mold.
This will then make the underside of your egg wet and you’ll want to get that off so it doesn’t start to disintegrate that area and make it mushy. Of course the overall appearance of them will vary depending on the ingredients you add. But if you follow the ratio I’ve provided below they are sure to taste just as amazing as ours. They will also pop out of the mold easily

How long do egg bites last in the fridge?
Instant Pot sous vide egg bites can be stored in the refrigerator if packaged in airtight bags or containers for up to 5 days. Personally we’ve never had any left when I make them, they go fast! I did throw 2 in though just to test this and it is fine after a few days.
How to reheat leftover egg bites
When you’re ready to reheat egg bites just use your microwave. Put on a paper towel, then on a plate for 30 seconds. These could also be frozen and reheated in the microwave for one and a half to two minutes.

Instant Pot blueberry muffins use the same egg mold and can use boxed mix to make things easier. Fluffy Instant Pot pancake bites, both of these will use this same egg mold. Pressure cooker breakfast bundt cake is a fun one with refrigerated biscuits and bacon.

I’ve been making egg bites for at least a year and haven’t varied my recipe or technique at all. I use silicone, double stacked with the silicone lids. Thought I had the process nailed perfectly until the last few times. The tray on the bottom is now almost exploding out of their cups. The top tray only has four bites and they are fine. I’m curious what has been happening since I haven’t changed anything! Any ideas? Would love your input 😊
I mean typically if adding two of them the bottom will be more done than the top one. If this is new to you your pot may have had something going on?? Not sure but I would suggest getting a non stick inner pot which will add a layer of heat protection which will create a more even heat overall inside.
Could you freeze these?
We make these all the time! Everyone get to pick their favorite combos and everyone is happy!
We are definitely on the egg bite train! Love how easy they are to put together and make right in the instant pot!
Hi do I need to add water to instant pot I’m order for them to cook?
Mine were undone. Should’ve put them back in for a while longer.
i need to adjust the recipe for 4 instead of 7. The amounts are very specific but not the cooking times. How would I adjust the cooking time for 4.
Hello! Can I use egg whites instead of eggs???
I’m sure you could
I loved these, made them this morning, thank you so much for the recipe, I added garlic powder, and followed instructions on cooking the shallot, peppers, and spinach together 🙂 no oil, or butter, just pink salt, and oregano worked out great 🙂 They came out PERFECT! And SO good for my meal prep this week. Thank you so much!!! I buy these from Starbucks, but these are WAY better. I used parmesean cheese and it came out sooo good. I will try swiss next :).
yay for the breakfast win!
