Frozen pizza rolls in the air fryer are great for a quick lunch or dinner! Crispy on the outside with ooey gooey cheese on the inside. Yes a whole frozen pizza is great when you want to feed your family but if you want a quick snack for one or two in Ninja Foodi, these are wonderful.

My kids agree, this is the best way to cook these! Ok, so I eat them too when I want just a little something to snack on. Those little boxes are often times on sale for cheap and everyone loves them, that is a win win. It’s one of many easy air fryer recipes on our site. (affiliate links present)

Air Fryer Pizza Rolls

I am sure you’ve seen these babies in the store. There are a few different types, they’re inexpensive, and my teens make them by themselves. Well, that was after we tested them out to find the exact temperature and cook time we needed to get them perfectly done.

It was time to figure out straight out of the freezer meals my kids could cook when we were gone. Of course fresh is best, but sometimes quick meals come to the rescue. Totinos pizza rolls are the type we got, cooked in AirWave or Ninja foodi, I am sure are others out there depending on where you live.

Nowadays some of the packages have the timing on the back, others are getting closer. Once you get the hang of using your machine on a regular basis you can kinda’ just feel it out. Newbies we will help you out until you get there. We started making a frozen pizza in the air fryer but honestly these turned out even better.

Then we started with making air fryer pizza using a packed dough you just added water to. You could make that from scratch too It was really fun! With either homemade dough, or bought in a package where you just add water, it turns out great.

Pizza Rolls in the Air Fryer

What is a pizza roll?

Basically it is a bit of dough with pizza ingredients stuffed inside. You can bake, microwave or now air fry them. Instead of it being flat and round like a Digiorno is, it’s in a little bite rolled up. Should you thaw these babies before baking? No, they’re meant to go from frozen to cooked.

We did not make these, they were bought made and frozen. I have made homemade pizza egg rolls though and those were amazing. I wouldn’t recommend egg roll wrappers though because they don’t cook as well as deep frying.

Tips

First off this is one of the best frozen foods for air fryer meaning, cooking these any other way is not nearly as crispy. To get the best texture you do need to make sure that you lay them in a single layer without overlapping though, that is key to getting golden brown.

There is no need for non stick cooking spray inside the air fryer basket for this one, skip it, you will just create more of a mess. Always wait to add food until you have a preheated air fryer or they will get soggy.

You will want to shake the basket or rotate them as well at least once during the total cook time. AND when done be careful!! Air fried pizza rolls are hot and may burn you when biting into them. WOWsie when we both bit into the first ones they splattered out and were so hot. So let them cool a few min.

Frozen Pizza Rolls Temp and Timing

Time and temp. should be the same for any of the hot air machines models out there. Of course there may be a very slight difference in the way air fryers cook so check your cooked frozen pizza rolls after 5 minutes and decide yourself.

After you make these you should download our free  air fryer frozen food cooking chart so you can refer to it with other items out of our freezer, you may also like:
