These Instant Pot pancake bites are so fun! We made protein pancakes with blueberries as you can see here, traditional Instant Pot pancakes as well as gluten free pancakes when a friend came over. Ninja Foodi Pancake Bites
We first began with making these pressure cooker egg bites that are similar to a crustless quiche. Great when taken on the go for breakfast on busy mornings. Kids love carbs though so we went on to make their favorite start to the day, with syrup for dipping.
You could use pancake batter but I don’t always have that on hand so below is an easy batter you can whip together quick. They come out a bit like pancake mix muffins in a mini size pan, like that size if you want to picture them.

Let’s start with a few basic tips:
- Make sure to Bookmark our InstaPot recipes page. We add new ones each week!
- Then LIKE our IP Facebook page for new ideas daily.
- This is a great InstaPot cookbook to grab too.
- I HIGHLY recommend you buy this non stick pot. It is easier to clean and will avoid the burn message too.
- For reference, this is the pressure cooker I have and use for all recipe creations.
Pancake Bites Recipe with Pancake Mix
Below we show you what we used for our first batch, we will share other methods below as well but if you haven’t tried protein packed pancake mix it’s pretty good and great if you’re on a lower carb diet. I feel it is a bit firmer than other varieties which helps when popping them out and creates an ideal texture overall.
- I added fresh blueberries to this batch because that is my favorite fruit and a great size for pancake bites I thought.
- I probably wouldn’t use frozen blueberries or another berry for that matter.
My thought is that they’d sweat a bit in the cooking process and would make the pancake bites a bit wetter. They may not cook thoroughly all the way through if so.
Kodiak Cake Pancake Bites
I’d imagine diced fresh, yellow, bananas would work well too though. That is our next add in. For the protein pancake mix you use:
- 1 cup pancake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 c blueberries if you choose to add those
This will make 1 full batch of pressure cooker pancake bites which is 7 total. You could make this homemade pancake recipe flat of course, but in small bite size balls is just way more fun right??
Pancake Bites Pressure Cooker
Like I said this Instant Pot egg mold works really well and does not require any non stick spray as it is made of silicone and allows you to literally POP the pancakes right out with no issue.
It does stay warm for a little while once you take it out but cools off rather quickly so you can push one out on to a plate and serve them.
- Refill them and make another round if you want more too.
If you have ever “baked” anything in your pressure cooker you do know that there is a bit of a different texture so don’t be alarmed if it is bit off from traditional pancakes. These are a great crazy morning breakfast option for us…and we hope you love them too. Looks yummy right??!!

Oh my! You should have seen my niece’s face when she saw me popping these little balls popping out onto her plate this morning. Priceless! They looked and tasted great!
This just blew my mind! I had no idea you could do this in the Instant Pot!
These little pancake bites were so delicious and turned out perfectly moist and fluffy! My kids gobbled them up for breakfast this morning!
Do you only add water for the gluten free bisquick option as well? The recipe on the box calls for milk, vegetable oil and an egg (we use egg replacer due to allergies) when making them the traditional way. Thank you!
Can you use bisquick mix?
Have you tried replacing a portion of the water with maple syrup to have the flavor and no dripping, to make them portable? I have done this with pancakes made the on the stove and works well; just wondering if it would work with bites.
Thank you, thank you! I make these all the time (usually two molds at a time). Delicious! It even works with frozen berries or chocolate chips.
Was the time the same for two molds?
It took mine like 6 min to get to pressure … wasn’t expecting that! Currently waiting to see how this turns out
Are the nutrition facts listed at the bottom of the recipe for one individual pancake bite or for the tray of 7? Thank you.
I followed directions but my IP never came to pressure. I kept my eye on it knowing eventually there would be no more water if steam kept releasing. Came out a little doughy but ok. What could have gone wrong? I’ve been using my IP all week and no issues with other recipes
I’ll bet the knob was on “venting” instead of “sealing”.
