Sight word themed color by number incorporates learning into a fun sheet children can decorate. It is a great way for them to practice words that they will read and speak often. Preschool age who aren’t quite ready can still use this to get used to seeing these words but not necessarily use the key.

Color by Number Kindergarten Printable
Children all are at different levels so I thought I would offer a couple for each. If your kids are at the younger end of the spectrum when it comes to the entrance date you might want to start with matching numbers like you see below.
It is a fun way to learn numbers as they match each with the designated color. I also have a few that focus on rhyming words in our Groundhog Day Coloring Pages post.
I have another free color by number coloring page at the bottom that doesn’t have anything on it other than the key and picture. This way you can put lowercase letters in the spaces with the capitals up above. Matching A and a is important before they enter the classroom
Then you can discuss when and where you would use each one. That capital letters are only used at the beginning of a sentence or name, that is why they are bigger – because they are more important. 😉 You can practice letters starting with our letter A coloring page too.

Use crayons or colored pencils to follow the key at the top of each color by number worksheet page. I would give them the exact shades they will need for the color by number sheets they are given. Older kids can improve fine motor skills by using colored pencils which are smaller.
