Not only is this great with chicken but it is the best way to jazz up bottled ranch dressing too! That is right, I mean that wouldn’t be made from scratch but it can bring salad to a whole new level if looking for something new. We will go over both recipes below. Popeyes Dipping Sauce

If you have leftovers you can use it as one of the best Chicken Nugget Dipping Sauce ideas that my kids just love. Lasting about a week in the fridge if bottled in a mason jar with a lid, you can meal plan around it as it is a great dip with all the things.

How to Make Popeyes Blackened Ranch Sauce

There is no cooking required to make this warm ranch dip. With others that have sugar in it you do have to boil it a bit to dissolve all the ingredients together, not here. In just 5 minutes with some time for it to cool in the refrigerator it is a great addition to your dinner plates, especially when cooking Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Nuggets at home.

Blackened Ranch

You could call this copycat Popeye’s blackened sauce a version of Warm Ranch Dressing really, but with a real kick. You can of course adjust how “spicy” it becomes with how much blackening and pepper you add in there. A little goes a long way with that stuff my friends so have a light hand and taste often until it is just right for your tastebuds.

How do you make blackened seasoning?

1. 2 tablespoons paprika
2. 1 tablespoon garlic powder
3. 1 tablespoon onion powder
4. 1 tablespoon dried thyme
5. 1 tablespoon dried oregano
6. 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste for desired spiciness)
7. 1 teaspoon black pepper
8. 1 teaspoon white pepper
9. 1 teaspoon salt or more to taste

Can you use steak seasoning instead of blackening seasoning?

While you can certainly use steak seasoning as a substitute for blackening seasoning in a pinch, keep in mind that the resulting flavor may be different. Since one is specifically for steak it may not provide the same level of spiciness or smokiness that blackening offers so the dish may lack some of the signature flavor elements.

What is difference between ranch and blackened ranch?

The latter offers a heat level that the other does not have. You could in fact make bottled ranch dressing blackened at home though. It won’t have quite the punch that starting off homemade but it would be quick if you are in a pinch. You would just add the blackening, salt and pepper listed below and whisk. Adjust as you taste until it is perfect for you.

What are the ingredients in Popeyes Blackened Ranch?

Now we used sour cream as a dairy thickener but you could use Greek yogurt as a healthier alternative too. You can find either one dairy free as well if that is better for your tummy. I have done this when making our Empanada Dipping Sauce and there isn’t a huge difference.

  • Mayonnaise is a great base for lots of dips out there, Best Foods is better than Miracle Whip y’all
  • Sour cream will give it a bit of tang, use full fat y’all
  • Buttermilk keeps it thick but will make it creamier and thin it out a bit
  • Parsley can be freshly diced fine or dried
  • Salt and pepper can be adjusted more at the end as desired.
  • Onion powder is a great add in
  • Dill is one of my favorites and is way better freshly diced vs. dried dill
  • Garlic powder goes with all the things
  • Chives diced fine are optional but give it some color and texture
  • 1 tbsp blackened seasoning can be adjusted for heat level desired

It is similar to our KFC Buffalo Ranch Recipe where you get heat in with that creamy dressing you love.

Use a bowl with a lid if you can and a whisk to make everything nice and smooth. Add extra mayonnaise to thicken if you wish. You want to refrigerate it in an airtight jar or closed bowl for about 30 minutes so it is nice and cold. Great with healthy Boiled Chicken Tenders carrots sticks too!

What are the dipping sauces at Popeyes?

This popular Louisiana chicken fast food restaurant offers a variety of dipping sauces to accompany their menu items. While the availability may vary by location, some of the commonly offered are below. We show you How to Make Popeyes Sauce <— here too.

  1. Mardi Gras Mustard they have as a fun tangy mustard sauce recipe with a hint of sweetness, perfect for dipping for your air fryer frozen chicken tenders or nuggets.
  2. Blackened Ranch is a really creamy ranch sauce with a hint of blackened seasoning for added flavor.
  3. Bayou Buffalo is a great and kinda’ spicy buffalo sauce with a Cajun twist, offering a combination of heat and tanginess.
  4. Popeyes Sweet Heat Sauce is just like it says with both flavors, a balance of sweetness from honey and a kick of heat from spices.
  5. Barbeque is just a classic barbecue sauce with a smoky and tangy flavor profile.
  6. Buttermilk Ranch is the plain stuff, like salad dressing stuff but a little thicker. A creamy ranch sauce with the traditional flavors of buttermilk, garlic, and herbs.

This one is great on fried chicken legs, salads and wraps too if you want to add flavor. 😉 Jump to recipe and let us know what you think.
