No churn Ice Cream without Condensed Milk

Whipping cream, pudding and dulce de leche are the main items. Add any chopped up candy bars or chocolate chips you want and you’re ready. You can enjoy shortly after it is made after firmed up in the freezer a bit.

Make harder than that and you can make all sorts of other creations with it too. Our ice cream sundae pie is a fun one with layers of other goodies in there. Always a hit for birthday parties for sure.

Of course you can leave the add ins out and make it just a caramel vanilla type flavor. 😉 If you don’t have a mixer it is okay but the first step is a bit easier if you do.

It will thicken quickly and don’t worry if it is still liquidy once you follow all the instructions because you don’t want to over mix it. Once it is frozen you’ll see that it works just fine. Mix mix mix away. No churn ice cream is fun to do with you kids too.

  2. Dulce de leche
  3. Chocolate pudding mix
    1. Instant
  4. Sea salt
  5. Vanilla
  6. Loaf pan
  7. Add ins
    1. Crushed candy bars
    2. Chocolate chips
    3. Mini marshmallows

Why does no-churn ice cream work?

Whipping the cream incorporates air into the mixture, which creates a light and fluffy texture similar to churned ice cream. The mixture is poured into a container and placed in the freezer for several hours (usually at least 4-6 hours, or overnight). Because of the air incorporated during whipping will become firm and then can be scooped out.

Why is my no-churn ice cream not freezing?

Ensure your freezer is set to at least 0°F (-18°C) or lower. A colder freezer will help the ice cream freeze faster and more solidly. Stick to the recommended ratios in the recipe. Typically, a standard no-churn ice cream recipe uses about 2 cups of heavy whipping cream to 1 can (14 ounces) of sweetened condensed milk. Overmixing can deflate the whipped cream, reducing the amount of air in the mixture, which can affect the texture and freezing process too.

What size pan to use for no churn ice cream

You will need a 9×5″ loaf pan as well to put it all in. If you wanted to double or triple this you could and just use a larger version like a 9×9″ or larger 9×13″ for a large batch. Then pop it into the freezer overnight and enjoy the next day. I guess if you started in the morning it should be ready by the evening too.

What can you make with no churn ice cream?

If you use this to make our Fried Chicken Ice Cream you’ll want a few whole Twix pieces and cornflakes too for the outsides. Other fun and easy dessert recipes:

You can make this other version using the Ninja Creami ice cream machine too!
