Color by Number Halloween

So last year I started working on all the holidays and thought I had covered them all, my bad. My Thanksgiving color by number was so popular that when I went to revise the Halloween color pages I realized I had forgot to do this one!! They are great as number recognition worksheets for younger ages and just entertaining for all others.

Like our Free Halloween Word Search I try to incorporate the most favorite images for that time of year like witches, a ghost, jack-o-lantern, spider, you know what I mean. You will find eight printables to choose from here. Choose one or all. 😉

You can see above what it looks like when you start out. The top has a key with the color each numbered box should be filled in with. I do suggest that colored pencils are used because they are small areas and crayons will not cover the whole box and smear into the others. It just isn’t as clean.

Markers are a no for me. Even if you use thin ones they will bleed a bit outside the lines and for sure on to the back. When I was teaching, and even at home when I was teaching my kids things children should know before Kindergarten I used the back for some other activity.

Mystery Picture

Our Coordinate Graphing Mystery Picture have Fall pics too but more difficult for older ages. Ideas you might like them that I typically would have them do with the blank area on the back would be;

  1. Younger children could draw their own picture on the back or a sentence about their picture on the front.
  2. Middle school kids can write a short story on the back about their picture. It could even be used as a grade. Have them peer edit them before turning in to create more of a group activity out of it.
