Egg Roll Dipping Sauce
It doesn’t matter whether you make your family some crispy Air Fryer Egg Rolls Not Frozen or are starting off with them frozen, you will want something to dunk these in. 😉 It is even more fun if you have more than one choice so we’re here to help with options. Easy with just a few ingredients and you can adjust the heat yourself.
How to Make Egg Roll Dip
There is no cooking required for either one of these, even easier right?? You do want to leave yourself a little bit of time for it to “marinate” covered in the refrigerator though so keep that in mind. If prepping for a party you can double or triple the batch and make it ahead of time. How to Make Homemade Egg Roll Wrappers should be made fresh for best results though.
What is the best sauce for spring rolls?
I wouldn’t say that there is one that is specific to being served with Air Fryer Spring Rolls other the other but the sweeter version would be expected I guess. If you were making both yourself I would consider what ingredients are inside and go with a good duo from there.
Sweet and sour, soy, hoisin, duck sauce (we share how to make that one here), plum, hot mustard, peanut sauce, ponzu or garlic are most well known. You can often times find them at Asian markets and sometimes at local grocery stores or make them from scratch like we did here.
Spring are usually meat-free, filled with vegetables and cabbage mostly. The wrapper is typically a bit thinner as well.
Ingredients
- Apricot jam
- Rice wine vinegar
- Soy sauce
- Garlic powder
- Ground ginger
- Splash of hot sauce if you want some spice
How to Make with Soy Sauce
Some call it egg roll duck sauce, great paired with a few Frozen Egg Rolls in Air Fryer for lunch. Many times I will make these as a light lunch so I will make a double batch. You could add some red pepper flakes to this if you wanted heat too but it is supposed to be just on the savory side of things.
- Rice wine vinegar
- Ginger ground
- Garlic powder
- Soy sauce
- Onion powder
- 1 tsp sesame oil
For gluten-free you could use aminos instead of soy and you likely wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference.
How long does homemade sauce last?
Soy-Based Sauces like this one or Teriyaki will last in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks or frozen for up to 3 months. This is only when cooled first and stored in airtight containers or freezer bags. Always label your containers with the date of preparation to keep track of how long they’ve been stored. When reheating, bring the sauce to a boil if it’s safe to do so, to kill any potential bacteria.
