How long does it take to cook rice in Crockpot Express?

Long grain takes 12 minutes. The rice button will automatically set it to that cook time which is handy, you can press high pressure and if making jasmine variety you instead set to 6 minutes with a 10 minute natural release. Different grains need a subtle tweak to get perfectly tender.

We have made crock pot express grits for a breakfast side dish which were good so we moved on to another basic recipe that we use all the time. If you are new to using your multi cooker pressure cooker machine it is easier than you think and I have step by step directions below on how to make this.

Ingredients

  1. White rice long grain timing listed below
  2. Water or broth – could use half broth half water if you want it to have a bit of flavor
  3. Your pressure cooker

How Long to cook Jasmine rice in Crock Pot Express

For this one you would follow the directions in our Instant Pot jasmine rice for that type. Only difference is that there is less high pressure time and a longer natural release so it can fluff up at the end when done. Same time but 6 minutes + 6 minutes broken down that way.

What to eat with Crockpot Express white rice

Most often we will serve this on top of Ninja Foodi chili with cheese, at least a few times a month this is a dinner we all love. We will even make chili mac out of that with some added noodles and do the same thing for more fun.

Need help using my Crock Pot Express Pot to cook Brown Rice

Ok so the darker the grains are the longer they will take to cook. You will need to increase the cook time from 12 to 22 minutes. Then you have to allow a natural release for 20 minutes after that to fluff up, yes it is a lot longer with a bit more water too but really good. You can follow the full instructions here with pressure cooker brown rice instructions.

Can you use Instant Pot recipes with a CrockPot Express?

Absolutely. Anything labeled as Instant Pot or pressure cooker recipe will work in this pot with the low or high pressure button. Brown is the same as the IP saute button instructions you may find.

Can you use a Crock Pot Express as a rice cooker?

Yes you can and it works really well too. There is a rice button or you can customize the cook time with the high pressure function. Wild takes the longest followed by brown rice, and long grain or Jasmine take the same time.
