Have you made cornbread in air fryer yet? It’s a great easy and cheap side dish alongside any meal. Make it sweet or savory with diced chiles and it’s moist every time. A Southern dish that goes with all the things for dinner or a cook out. One of our favorite easy air fryer recipes. (affiliate links present)

Ninja Foodi Cornbread

You can use any brand of machine you have to make this. I’ve used my Cosori, Airwave and Ninja Foodi as well. They all come out fluffy and fantastic. With the latter you will use the lid that is attached and the air crisp button. You could also make our pressure cooker cornbread with this brand, with the other lid that is not attached. 😉

If you’ve made our air fryer bread before you know how easy it is to bake in an air fryer. Now it is time to try something new with this creation. It is a nice small batch that feeds 4-6 people and so pretty using a small bundt pan.

If you love air fryer recipes too, here are some resources to start with:

cosori review

I used a small mini bundt pan to make this one, as I did our air fryer banana bread. Not only does it turn out moist and not heat up your whole house while it’s baking, but you could you can use the batter in silicone cups too instead.

Air Fryer Cornbread Muffins

If you want a faster cook time you will want to use the recipe below with the timing for our air fryer muffins. For those you would use silicone muffin cups to pour your batter inside. Another cooking hack like our cornmeal muffins with the same batter that “bakes” even faster.

Can I use aluminum pan in air fryer?

Yes. With meats and vegetables you don’t want to so the air can circulate around each piece.
When it comes to baking in an air fryer it is necessary. I like this small bundt pan for this and our banana bread.
Most Instant Pot accessories will fit into this machine too, just FYI.

Can you use paper muffin cups in an air fryer?

Silicone cups are better. If you wanted to use this batter to instead make air fryer muffins you could do that too. Cornbread muffins would take a lot less time.

How do I make cornbread from scratch?

I have a homemade cornbread recipe below for this you can follow. There are tons of variations though. Most cornmeal boxes or bags have a recipe on the back too.

Air Fryer Cornbread with Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix

Alternatively you can go with the easiest one. Just mix the ingredients on the box to make Jiffy cornbread batter instead and use that. 1 box will do it. Poured into a mini bundt pan, it comes out really pretty too.

Ingredients

  1. Albers Cornmeal is what to use to make from scratch
  2. All purpose flour will thicken the batter
  3. Butter will give it that buttery rich flavor
  4. Egg is a great binder for everything
  5. Buttermilk is better than milk for a more dense outcome
  6. Sugar, just a bit will add that sweetness you would expect
  7. Baking soda and baking powder will help it rise
  8. Salt is needed for the savory element
  9. Non stick cooking spray so it will slide out
  10. Aluminum foil needs to cover the top so it bakes evenly and the top doesn’t burn

You will need a 7″ bundt pan to fit inside the drawer. To add a bit of spicy you could make smoked chiles and dice up or use canned. To save myself more dishes to wash I just mix the dry ingredients in a large measuring cup and the wet in another, then combine.

How to Bake Cornbread in Air Fryer

  • In a bowl mix dry ingredients. In another bowl add melted butter and remaining wet ingredients, stir both.
  • Add wet ingredients into dry bowl and stir until combined.
  • Preheat air fryer to 330 degrees F for 5 minutes.
  • Spray your 7″ bundt pan with non stick spray. Pour batter inside leaving 1″ space left at the top, there will be a bit of batter left over.
  • Cover pan loosely with foil and put into air fryer basket.
  • Cook at 330 degrees covered for 35 minutes. Then remove foil and increase temperature to 350 F and cook for another 9 minutes to lightly brown the top.
  • Remove the pan, put plate on top, carefully flip over, slice and serve.

Why does my cornbread fall apart?

It is kinda’ crumbly by nature. If you use more flour it will stick together a bit better. Using full fat buttermilk will help keep it moist too. I once grabbed a lower fat buttermilk, I wouldn’t recommend that if you have the choice. You want it to be as moist as possible to go your favorite 5 ingredient Crockpot chili.

How Long to Bake Cornbread in a Bundt Pan

In this case it is a mini size and takes about 45 minutes. You could do the same thing in the oven, and/or in a regular size but the cook time would need to increase because you’d need much more batter to fill 2/3 of the way full.

We add new recipes 5 times a week, most pressure cooker recipes take only 15 minutes. Find even more easy Cosori air fryer recipes here. If you want to try another fun side dish you can “bake” Crockpot cornbread which is fab too.

A close-up of a sliced bundt cake on a white plate reveals its golden-brown exterior and light, fluffy interior, reminiscent of air fryer cornbread. A bottle with a honey label is partially visible in the background.
