I have found 10 great resources where you can download free iOS APPs for camping, and for Android as well. Camping is such a great activity to do with your family during the Summer and School breaks. Best Camping APPs
If you’re planning a camping trip for the first time, or visiting a new location you probably need all the help you can get! I like to start planning all of our vacations using as many free resources as possible, and then go from there.
It saves us money and many times there are apps and websites with a ton of information that will in turn save me time as well.
When planning a camping trip I first use these free camping printables and resources:

- Free printable easy camping recipes and meal planning sheet
- Make sure I’m prepared with what I need if we are camping with kids
- Tips on packing for a road trip that are really helpful if you’re driving a long distance
Free camping APPs
Then I go beyond that to find things that will help keep things organized and and these free websites have been great resources when we are planning a trip in a tent, rv, or want to hike in a new location.
- Good Sam Camping APP – offers discounts, directions and information about the more than 13,000 RV parks and campgrounds listed in the top-selling Good Sam RV Travel and Savings Guide, printed annually.
- Included with each park listing is their rating and filters campgrounds according to your specifications.
- Chimani National Parks APP – helps you to create a virtual passport of your visits to any of the 401 National Park System locations. It also has the option of accessing news provided by the National Park Traveler, a website dedicated to covering the National Park system and service on a daily basis.
- Field Trip APP – Will notify you when you are near interesting landmarks, historic sites, great places to eat and more. Great for road trips and when you are in an unfamiliar city or location.
