Why we love Popeyes Sauces

Ok so we don’t get to visit here often because there isn’t one in our town (cry). When we do go we not only grab a few our our favorite dips, but a couple more to take home. 😉 One weekend we started experimenting to make a few of our own pretty close versions like Copycat Blackened Ranch Sauce Popeyes and more…..

List of Popeyes Sauces

What is the new Popeyes sauce called? Hottie sauce!! It is a fun one with a unique flavor, spicy as expected but with sweet for sure. I’d say it is like our Huli Huli Sauce with brown sugar and more of a kick.

  1. Blackened Ranch (linked above) is creamy and zesty ranch with Cajun spices that pairs well with fried chicken and fries
  2. Bold BQQ Sauce has a hint of vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. Similar to how to make sweet baby rays honey BBQ Sauce but with a kick and great for chicken wings and sandwiches. We will share this one below in the recipe card.
  3. Buttermilk Ranch is just like the Hidden Valley variety in the bottle at home.
  4. Creole Cocktail Sauce is a spicy sauce with tomato, horseradish, and lemon juice.
  5. Mardi Gras Mustard with Creole spices is for typically paired with popcorn shrimp
  6. Sweet Heat Sauce is linked at the top of this post and may be our most favorite one there so we made a copycat version ourselves.
  7. Wild Honey Mustard is sweet and tangy great for dipping. Literally just like our Mustard Pretzel Dip we made years ago.
  8. Bayou Buffalo Sauce with Louisiana heat is their version of Frank’s Red Hot
  9. Tartar Sauce is a creamy sauce with mayonnaise, pickles, and herbs

All of these go well with anything they serve there, not just the chicken y’all. Dip everything!!

Popeyes Dipping Sauce

Are sauces free at Popeyes?

Yes, to an extent. When you order a meal that includes chicken tenders, nuggets, or other dipping items, They will include one or more dipping sauces free of charge. The number may depend on the size of the order and the specific restaurant’s policy. They used to have them all out to grab as many as you want but not anymore so you have to ask.

How long can you save Popeyes sauces?

There isn’t an expiration date on them but you can safely store them in the fridge for longer, for a few months. You want to make sure they are all unopened, if not they should be thrown away. We never ever throw away the extras though. They serve as great Dipping Sauce for Chicken Wings or drizzle it on top of our Pan Fried Chicken Legs for added wow!

What is Popeyes voodoo sauce?

The exact ingredients and flavor profile of the Voodoo Sauce may vary depending on the specific promotion or menu item it is featured with. However, it is generally described as a sweet and spicy sauce with hints of Cajun and Creole-inspired flavors.

What is the spiciest sauce at Popeyes?

As of 2022, Popeyes Ghost Pepper Wings were one of the spiciest offerings on their menu. These wings were coated in a sauce made with ghost peppers, which are known for their intense heat. However, the availability of specific spicy sauces may vary by location and time.
