I bet this is one of your favorite fast food restaurants huh? We can’t visit all the time so it is awesome to know what ingredients are in and how to make the sauce there we love. There’s 3 recipes that will get you started here. (affiliate links present)

How many Burger King dipping sauces are there?

There are 6 sauces of them currently. Of course there is Ranch which you can get out of a dressing bottle at home. There bbq, we show you How to Make Sweet Baby Rays Honey BBQ Sauce here if you don’t have a bottle. Zesty, buffalo, sweet and sour and honey mustard are shared below because they are more unusual.

What is Burger King Royal Sauce?

It is a creamy, tangy, and slightly sweet condiment you can find in the Crispy Royal Wraps and a few of their chicken sandwiches. The exact recipe for the Royal Sauce is closely guarded, but typically includes mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and several spices. Some describe added hints of onion, garlic, and a touch of vinegar so you could mess around with those to get pretty close (we haven’t yet).

BK Sweet and Sour Sauce

Ok so we have shared in the past how to make Copycat Panda Express Sweet and Sour Sauce as well. There is just a tweak to each one, mostly it is the spicy level that may be more or less. Making it at home gives you the ability to adjust that, which is why you should make it yourself. Period.

How to make a sauce?

That depends on whether you need to cook it or not. 2 reasons why you would heat it in a pan on the stove; it includes sugar which you want to dissolve so it is smooth, or you want to deepen the flavors like with a barbecue blend. For those you would heat to a low simmer, stirring. Cold dips are just whisked together so all ingredients are incorporated.

Onion Ring Zesty Sauce

Does Burger King zesty sauce have horseradish?

Yes it does but don’t worry, you can adjust it to your liking this way. You do want somewhat of a zing to it since that is kinda’ why they say it is zesty. The vinegar in that mixture adds a pop to this french fry dip too which is why people love it so much.

Ingredients

  • Sour cream
  • Mayonnaise
  • Horseradish you can make your own if you like
  • 1/4 c mustard
  • Sugar
  • Sriracha
  • Onion powder
  • Minced garlic finely diced
  • Lemon juice

Honey Mustard Sauce

We used our Mustard Sauce for Corned Beef for this for a long time, which is quite similar and will give you the same punch too. There is a small tweak to the one that is a bit closer to theirs explained below though. Once again, you can then add more sweet if you like yourself. Use spicy vs. Dijon if you prefer more heat.

Do you have to save leftover sauce in the refrigerator?

Yes, homemade sauces should be kept in sealed containers in the fridge for up to a week. If you cooked one at all you would have to wait until it cooled completely before putting into a squeeze bottle or mason jar.

Are sauces at Burger King free?

Yes they will give you a few with each item you order that requires one. Beyond a few per item they may question you and depending on the location may have a max that is allowed per order.

Other sauces you will love

We have shared How to Make Popeyes Sauce, a few of them, here as well because well they have some amazing choices that are different there too with heat! And sometimes we just want to go Asian with Homemade Teriyaki Sauce without Cornstarch on all the things.

Equipment

  • 3 bowls 1 for each sauce

Ingredients

Zesty Sauce

  • 1/4 c sour cream
  • 1/4 c mayonnaise
  • 1/3 c horseradish
  • 1/4 c mustard
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp Sriracha
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic, finely diced
  • 2 tsp lemon juice

Sweet and Sour Sauce

  • 1 c pineapple juice
  • 1/4 c rice wine vinegar
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp red food coloring, optional

Burger King Honey Mustard Sauce

  • 1/4 c sour cream
  • 1/4 c mayonnaise
  • 1/4 c mustard
  • 1/4 c honey
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  • Zesty onion ring sauce – In a small bowl, whisk the ingredients together. Add the finely minced garlic and fresh lemon juice. Place in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes so the flavors have time to blend. Store any leftovers in an airtight container
  • Sweet and sour sauce – In a small saucepan, place the pineapple juice, rice wine vinegar and sugar and salt. Add the soy sauce and simmer overlow for about 3-4 minutes until the sugar has dissolved, stirring occasionally.
  • In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and cold water until it’s a smooth liquid without any lumps. Add it to the sauce and whisk it until the sauce starts to thicken when it’s close to boiling, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in a couple drops of red food coloring (3 drops were used in these photos). Allow sauce to cool and serve with your favorite chicken nuggets or french fries! Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Honey mustard sauce – In a small bowl, whisk all the ingredients together. Cover and chill for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to a week
