Crispy air fryer sausage patties and eggs are the best!! NO more grease filled pans while your food cooks and you can cook over medium or hard eggs at the same time. Easy air fryer recipe we love. (affiliate links present)

Air Fryer Sausage

We began this all by making Ninja Foodi sausage but those were more like brats style and served for dinner. Seriously the best way ever with a nice snap on the outside while remaining tender on the inside. Now that is the only way they’re cooked in this house.

I loved our air fryer egg bites so much too that I thought it might be easy to make all of this together. It was! Talk about simple and convenient when everyone is hungry and you want to make a high protein nutritious meal for everyone. Game Changer!

If you love extra crispy food and quick recipes, here are some resources to start with:

A close-up photo of a hand pulling out the basket of an open air fryer on a light-colored surface. The interior of the air fryer basket is empty and features a mesh design, perfect for cooking your favorite dishes like bang bang shrimp. The edge of the air fryer has a latch mechanism for securing the basket.

Air Fryer Sausage Patties

There are tons of brands and types of raw ground sausage patties out there. I personally go for easy (and on sale) so this is what I grabbed. They were each about 1/2″ thick. The cook time will vary slightly depending on the thickness (obviously).

How long does it take to cook sausage patties in an air fryer?

It will vary a bit. For our 1/2″ thick ready made raw dials they got crispy on the outside and made it to 160F inside in 7 minutes. If yours are thinner I might check at min. 5. I like mine extra crispy too though.

Very similar timing with other patties as well. If you have air fryer frozen chicken patties that would add a few more minutes because they aren’t defrosted. Still a quick meal for sure and a kid favorite meal.

Alternatively you can get a Jimmy Dean roll and make them into circles yourself. I suggest not making them too thick or the outside will get quite done before the middle is safe to consume.

How to cook sausage patties in air fryer?

It’s quite simple really. Since the pieces are likely seasoned quite a bit already all you need to do is pop them right in after spraying with non stick spray and heat ’em up!!

If you want to add some air fryer eggs you can do that too!! You’ll need some cups but cheese can be added to the top, whisk them with some salt, pepper and diced bell peppers. The possibilities are endless.

  1. Breakfast sausage patties
  2. Olive oil spray
  3. Eggs and silicone baking cups if you want a duo

If you forget about the spray you’d probably be alright since it will emit a bit of grease in the cooking process. The great thing about making them this way is the grate at the bottom. Makes it so that the fat and grease drains away.

Love them REALLY crispy like me on the outside edges? Add another minutes at the end until they are as golden brown as you’d like them to be. Enjoy as is together or dice the meat and throw it all in a tortilla to make an air fryer burrito for yourself!

How do you cook frozen sausage patties?

In a Ninja Foodi or Cosori it would be closer to 10-12 minutes total AND you’ll want to put them in when your machine is cold. That way as it is warming up it will gradually defrost them. Set to 10, flip after 5 min.

Check again because thickness will vary this. Add 2 more minutes at a time checking in between until internal meat temperature reaches 160 degrees F.

Can you cook eggs in an air fryer?

Yes ma’am!! I shared our egg bites link above, air fryer hard boiled eggs are possible but these are the best. Here’s why: Just crack an egg into each of these cups, season and they’re ready.

You could also whisk 2 tbsp milk + 1 egg + finely diced green onions or bell peppers. Just don’t fill beyond 3/4 of the way full. For large eggs you’ll reach medium hard yolks in 5 minutes, medium size will be over hard in 5.

SO if you cook these together just remove at minute 5, set aside for 3 minutes so they can continue firming up, and continue cooking meat for 2-3 more minutes.

You can see the results below for your reference. The left one was a large and the right was smaller (more like what you’d consider medium). We have 12 chickens here so no store bought for us, but they do vary in size.

Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F for 5 minutes. Spray inside of your air fryer basket with non stick cooking spray and lay raw patties inside. Do not overlap them, have them in a single layer. If you want to add 1 egg inside each silicone cup do that now too.

  • Time to air fry your raw sausage patties for 7 minutes total flipping halfway.
  • Eggs only take 5 minutes (then allow to sit inside cups for 3 minutes once removed from basket before taking them out).
  • So if cooking together just remove eggs at 5 minutes and flip patties at that time.
  • Remove, ensure middle is not pink and reads 160F.

I prefer to season with salt and pepper at the end but you could do inside the cups too. Sausage in the air fryer is a game changer for us. Wouldn’t cook it in a pan ever again. On the barbecue grill is a close second but this is quick and easy for anyone to do.

If you want to air fryer sausage links it takes about a minute or two longer or so. We never pan fry these anymore because they’re so much better in this machine. Italian sausage air fryer style are great too for larger pieces, try spicy sometime! Jump to recipe y’all and enjoy.
