When I got this machine I figured out that baking potatoes in a toaster oven was not only possible but possibly better than in the oven! Then I got to thinking about other categories of food and how I could use it to make other meals and snacks.

Since we order pizza a few times a month, we always seem to have some left over. Since I work from home I am usually the one who has it for lunch. I mean I’m not super picky but at the same time I am a texture person and gooey anything is a no go for my palate. SO this has been a game changer for me!!

You can do this for as many slices of pizza you have. Whether it was from a bakery, delivery or store leftover pizza it really doesn’t matter. Now the types of pizza will so you may need to adjust the timing if it is thin crust pizza vs. thick but you can see thru the glass to keep an eye on things.

How to Reheat Pizza in Toaster Oven

  • You always want to preheat your toaster oven for 5 minutes first.
  • Do so for reheating pizza at 350 degrees F with the flat aluminum tray inside on the bottom rung.
  • Set slice or two of cold pizza on the tray in a single layer without overlapping and slide into the machine. Close the front door.
    • if it is several days old you may want to add a few drops of water to the top to liven up the cheese and moisten.
  • Keep at 350 degrees F and cook for 5 minutes to melt cheese and crisp up the top and bottom to a golden brown again.

As opposed to a regular oven this doesn’t take long to warm up so if you are short on time it is the way to go for sure. Even for other dishes or after school snacks it is super handy for teens to make this or Toaster Oven Hot Dogs for a quick meal.

The Best Way to Reheat Pizza

Reheating pizza to achieve a crispy crust and melty cheese without making it overly dry or chewy can be a bit of an art. The best way depends on your preference and the equipment you have available. Here are a few effective methods; Arguably the best method to help maintain the crust’s crispiness and evenly melts the cheese is below or in the oven.

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F or 190°C
  • Place the pizza slices directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Heat for 8-10 minutes or until the crust is crispy and the cheese has melted to your liking.
  • If you have a pizza stone, preheat it in the oven and then place slices on the stone for even better results.

Reheating Pizza on the Stove

Using a cast iron skillet is another great way to heat again, especially if you want a crispy crust. You preheat your skillet over medium-low heat for a few minutes. Place slice(s) in the skillet and cover it with a lid or aluminum foil to trap heat. Heat for 2-4 minutes or until the crust is crispy and the cheese is melted.

Microwaved Pizza

You may have tried this but it was a dud. It is quick but can make the crust chewy if not done right. This method helps prevent that. Place a microwave-safe cup or glass of water in the microwave next to it. Heat using the “reheat” function or at 50% power for about 1-2 minutes per slice. The steam from the cup of water will help keep the crust from becoming too chewy.

Regardless of the method you choose, keep an eye on it to prevent it from overcooking or burning. You can also add a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese or a drizzle of olive oil on top before reheating for extra flavor. Experiment with these methods to find your preferred way, and enjoy your delicious leftover slices as if they were freshly delivered.

How to Cook Frozen Pizza in a Toaster Oven

  1. Preheat Your Toaster Oven according to the instructions on the frozen pizza packaging. Typically, toaster ovens are preheated to around 425°F for frozen pies.
  2. Prepare the Toaster Oven Tray or Rack. If your toaster oven has a baking tray or rack, place it inside. If not, you can use a small, oven-safe baking sheet or aluminum foil as a makeshift tray.
  3. Take it out of its packaging and place it directly on the toaster oven tray or rack.
    • Ensure that there’s enough space around the pizza to allow for even cooking.
  4. Adjust the Cooking Time
    • Usually the packages will provide recommended cooking times and temperatures. Follow these instructions for the best results.
    • If there are no specific instructions, start by cooking for about 10-15 minutes, then check its progress. Adjust the time as needed based on your toaster oven’s performance and the doneness you desire.
  5. Rotate if your toaster oven tends to have hot spots, consider rotating the pizza halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning.
  6. The pizza is done when the crust is golden brown, the cheese is melted and bubbly, and any toppings are cooked to your liking. This usually takes around 12-15 minutes, but it may vary depending on your toaster oven.
  7. Carefully remove the cooked pizza from the toaster oven using oven mitts or a spatula.
    • Place the hot pizza on a heatproof surface or a wire rack to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
  8. Slice and enjoy your toaster frozen pizza. You can add additional toppings or seasonings if desired.

Keep in mind that toaster ovens vary in temperature and cooking performance, so it’s essential to monitor while it’s cooking to prevent overcooking or burning. Adjust the cooking time or temperature as needed to achieve the desired results.
