Ingredient Notes

Frozen sweet potato fries of course is what we are starting with. There are several brands out there but Alexia is the most common.

Use Olive oil spray at the end if you want super crispy outsides. It is easier to use a can so you can just lightly coat a spritz on there or else it will weigh it down.

Use Seasonings of your choice like; garlic powder and/or salt, onion powder, chili powder, Italian seasoning, Paprika, and red pepper flakes for a spicy kick

Can I use any brand or size like frozen sweet potato wedges to make these? Yes, any brand of frozen varieties will work for this recipe. A popular choice is Alexia, but feel free to use your favorite one for this easy air fryer recipe. For wedges just add a few more minutes since they are larger.

Remember, when air frying, you’ll want to toss a few times during the cooking process to ensure that they cook evenly. And don’t forget you can jump to recipe at the top to get right down to cooking!

You would essentially use the same steps for Frozen Waffle Fries in Air Fryer and if you wanted to make a homemade style of these, follow the directions in this Air Fryer Sweet Potato Wedges recipe.

What Temperature is best to air fry frozen French fries?

When cooking frozen sweet potato fries in an air fryer, setting the right temperature is crucial. This recipe recommends preheating your air fryer to 350 degrees F and maintaining this temperature throughout the cooking process. At this heat level, the fries will cook evenly and reach the perfect level of crispness without burning. I have how long to cook fries at 400 here as well.

How to get Frozen French Fries Extra Crispy

You will want to shake the basket every 5 minutes to ensure an even cook. This can also help you keep an eye on how they’re coming along. You’ll know the fries are done when they’ve reached your desired level of crispness. To enhance the crunch, spray with olive oil.

Cooking Tips

One tip for getting the best results from your air fryer: don’t overload the basket. Fries should be in a single layer so that they cook evenly and get that perfect crunch. Also, remember to shake the basket every few minutes to help the fries cook evenly.

Given that each machine is a little different, you may need to adjust the cooking time slightly based on your specific machine. Some may cook a bit hotter and faster, while others might need a couple more minutes. However, a general rule of thumb is to check on the fries after 10 minutes to see how they’re progressing.

Remember, air fryers make the process of cooking frozen sweet potato fries simple and straightforward. And best of all, it results in a tasty and healthier version of this popular snack or side dish.
