Can preschoolers do color by number?

Absolutely, if they are easy enough or they are advanced. Below are letter matching where children will need to identify upper case letters and lower case letters. Then use the key to color the spot correctly and finish the picture.

If you want both of the color by number sheets just click on the blue link below and hit print. But if you only want one of the two you can do that as well. Click on the same link and then hit file on your computer. Change ALL next to pages to custom instead. Then below that choose how many copies of that page you want and print.

The third and last page is just for reference so it is just the first two that you’ll want. PreK is a time to learn important things before moving on to a classroom setting. This is a great start to learn letters and then move on to learning letter sounds.

For number recognition you can also print out our Chinese New Year color by number sheets. They are great for that skill.

For recognizing numbers, our Star Wars color by number sheets we have a few here too. I have a few other resources below this page here. I’m a former Kindergarten teacher myself so I wrote an article years ago in regards to what children this age should be learning before they go into a school setting.

Color by Number Preschool worksheet featuring crayons in a cup. Sections contain words like the, it, he, she, I, and we. Labels indicate colors: yellow, blue, green, red, pink, orange. Each word corresponds to a specific color for an engaging educational activity.

What does color by number teach?

THIS is what a child should know before Kindergarten. It not only teaches how to hold a crayon, but paying attention to directions, matching skills, and staying in the lines too.

Whether you choose private or public school they will be expected to know a lot more than just how to nap well. 😉 Back in the day kids could walk in knowing 0 and it was expected, not anymore.

Many children, including my own, walk in already knowing their letters, sounds, and even how to read simple BOB books. If yours is way behind that they are likely to struggle or get frustrated. You can work on fine motor skills with these coloring sheets with these color by letter and we have color by number animals pages with number recognition practice too.

Choose the color by number worksheets you want, we have a ton and they don’t cost you anything to print.
