WW 2 ingredient bagels are the best. NO yeast required and they taste amazing. You just need Greek yogurt and flour really which makes it a great baking project for kids too. THIS is how to make homemade bagels yourself this week. (affiliate links present)

Weight Watchers 2 Ingredient Bagels

Sounds kinda’ crazy and unbelievable but you can bake homemade goods without yeast and they will rise just the same. Well this one will anyway, there is a sorta’ science to it so follow the instructions carefully. We first used this same recipe to make air fryer bagels. I’ll share a picture of those bagel bites at the bottom of this post.

Since not everyone has a hot air machine I thought I’d share how it’s done in the oven as well. You can either make them whole as you see at the top, or dollop the dough like cookies and they’ll bake up like Bantam Bagels. From there you can stuff them with cream cheese too which is fun.

2 Ingredient Bagels with Self Rising Flour

Let’s get into it shall we? What are the magic ingredients right? You’re going to need to specific things; Greek yogurt and self rising flour. Do NOT use all purpose, it will not work. Low fat yogurt will NOT work either. Listen specifically to those two items and do not stray from them. You can choose flavored like blueberry vs. plain or vanilla yogurt if you want fruit style. If you are going to add additional add ins like chocolate chips then I would use plain for sure.

Weight Watchers Bagels Ingredients

  1. Greek yogurt
  2. Self rising flour

How many points each

3 points each is all my friends! If you made bagel bites you would even consume less, and those are fun too quite frankly.

What else can you add?

  • Dried cranberries would be yummy
  • Chopped nuts are another idea
  • Peanut butter chips vs. chocolate, or a mixture of the two could be tried
  • Or just sprinkle minced garlic or everything bagel seasoning on the top

How to make the outside of bagels crispy?

Ok so there is a third ingredient that makes it brown nicely on the top. A swift brush of whisked egg whites will do the trick. Even if you aren’t sprinkling anything on top it will help you get that nice crunchy and golden brown texture on the outside. If you ARE adding things like sesame seeds it will help keep them stuck to the top as well so it will do double duty for you.

Why is 2 ingredient dough healthier?

There’s added protein in them because of the yogurt. When made homemade you can make sure they have no preservatives or additives in them too which is nice.

What does yoghurt do to dough?

It hydrates the flour, adds protein and makes the dough nice and tender. Adding fat to it without the use of oils it is preferred by many when baking.

Can you eat bagels on Weight Watchers?

These are acceptable. As always you want to refer to your daily points allowed but if you divide this dough into 4 equal parts they’re each equal to 3 points. I know, crazy right?? Make them smaller, into 6 bagels and each is closer to 2 points. Take your pick. Use fat free Greek yogurt for this.

How to Make 2 Ingredient WW Bagels

  • Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Use a kneading attachment on your mixer. Spray inside with a bit of non stick cooking spray. Combine self rising flour and yogurt together in your mixing bowl. Add in mix ins half way through if you want something inside.
  • Knead the dough for 6 minutes or until a big ball of dough forms. If it is still sticky add a bit more flour until it pulls away from the sides.
  • Remove ball of dough and place on a lightly floured surface. Divide this into 6 equal pieces and form each one into a ball.
  • Use fingers to make a larger than normal hole in the center. This will close quite a bit when baking remember. Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking sheet.
  • Whisk your egg whites in a small bowl and brush on the top of each one so they get a bit of shine.
    • If adding poppy seeds or dehydrated onions sprinkle them on top now.
  • Bake for 10-14 minutes until tops are golden brown. Allow to cool on a cooling rack off of the pan.

How many does this make?

This will make 4-6 whole or about 10 bagel bites. For the latter you don’t have to shape them really. I mean if you want them to be more like copycat Bantam bagels just roll a piece of dough into a ball with your palms and put on to the baking sheet. Silpat sheet or parchment paper works well so they don’t stick.

And then you can enjoy with cream cheese on top or just plain. You could easily make multiple batches by tripling the recipe. Bake and repeat with remaining pieces until they are all done. Great way to do batch cooking.

How to Make Homemade Bagels

Plain traditional bagels made this way are great. Even if you don’t add anything inside or on top they’re still delicious.

I do this all the time and once they are defrosted you would never know that they were previously in the freezer. You can take just one out at a time or a few and it only takes a few hours to thaw out. You just:

How to Freeze Homemade Bagels

  1. Make sure they are cooled and at room temperature.
  2. Slide them into a gallon freezer bag.
  3. Zip 90% closed, then suck the remaining air out completely.
  4. Lay flat in your freezer for up to 3 months.
  5. Defrost frozen bagels on the countertop.
  6. Slice and this is How to Toast a Bagel in the Oven when they are softened.

This is a peek at our 2 ingredient bagel bites air fryer style. We used a pastry bag to squeeze cream cheese into the center which was so yummy. Jump to recipe below and let us know what you think!
