Want to know how to cook eggs and spam together at the same time? Itโ€™s a great idea giving your yolks a bit of salty smoky flavor. I love a cast iron skillet if mine is clean but any pan will do and only takes about 10 minutes to make. (post may contain affiliate links present)

What is the best way to cook Spam?

That depends on the texture you want. If you ask us we like it a deep brown and crispy. You can get this done in a skillet on the stove which we will show you here, but if you want a real crunch our Air Fryer Spam Fries are pretty amazing.

How to Cook Spam and Eggs

Below in the recipe card we are going to share how to cook these two ingredients in a pan. There are a few other methods including cooking the slices in an air fryer linked above and the eggs in another too. OR chop up the meat and fold into your Crockpot Scrambled Eggs mixture cooked low and slow.

A can of Spam, a carton of eggs ready for a delicious Spam and Eggs recipe, a ripe banana, half a cantaloupe, and a gray cloth rest on the countertop.

How do you Cook Spam in the Oven

There is a classic Old Fashioned way to do this where you cook the block whole with whole cloves in it and a brown sugar glaze basted over it. You will first preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Place whole block of canned meat in the center of a small casserole dish and run your knife over the top both ways to score it. You can stick 5 cloves inside all around if you like those flavors. Then stir together;

  1. 1/3 cup brown sugar
  2. 1.5 tsp mustard
  3. 1 tsp beef broth or water (enough to make a paste)

Similar to How to Cook Ham Steak in Oven, youโ€™ll pour this glaze over your โ€œloafโ€ of meat and bake for 15-20 minutes or until it is as browned as youโ€™d like. * You need to use a spoon to baste the sauce that will seep to the bottom of the dish over the top at least once during this time to keep it moist. Remove, cool for 5 minutes, discard cloves, slice and serve.

What does Spam taste good with?

Sweet and savory mixture of ingredients is best if you are going to add a sauce, like the one above. As far as what to serve with it the most popular would be with white rice, eggs or kimchi. If you arenโ€™t familiar with the latter it is fermented cabbage that is quite strong like sauerkraut in a sense (a like it or love it dish). Fried spam will have a sweeter caramelized flavor.

How do you Cook Spam in the Microwave

You can!! It gets those bites of goodness pretty crispy too. Just dice like you see here, put on to a microwave-safe plate and heat for 2-3 minutes total, moving meat around the plate every 30 seconds. Then we show you How to Microwave Eggs in a Cup which you can make hard boiled or with a runny yolk so you donโ€™t even need a stove to make this delicious start to the day. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Spam and Egg Sandwich

There are a few ways to do this. The most simple is to fry slices in a pan like we did here + over medium egg and serve in between two slices of bread. If you really wanted to go all out I would slice canned meat real thin and use instead of ham to make serve inside two slices of bread with lettuce and tomato like a sort of BLT.

Spam and Egg Golden Fried Rice

Essentially this is made like our Chinese Sausage Fried Rice except with this type of meat. You can โ€œfryโ€ in the pan or if you want crispier bites toss in an air fryer at 400 for a few minutes and when fried rice is done I fold those in. Can you tell I am a texture gal?? I love crispy.

Is Spam Eggs and Rice Healthy?

I mean everything should be eaten in moderation. You can find LITE versions on the shelf, I havenโ€™t tried those. There is quite a bit of fat and sodium in this style of Hawaiian meat but typically it isnโ€™t served as a main dish where you are eating much more than a few thin slices at a time.

How do I make Spam and egg rice bowl with Kimchi?

This is essentially fried cooked rice made with bite size Spam pieces in it. When done a spoonful of kimchi (fermented cabbage) is served on top but on the side. That way you can eat it separate or fold it into the bowl and enjoy together.
