Toaster Oven Garlic Bread
The start of this whole thing is the base. There are tons of variations as far as that goes. You can make Garlic Bread Rolls with the flavoring on the top or in the middle but typically a loaf of French bread would be used, or slices of sandwich bread.
- Start with a high quality loaf of bread. A rustic Italian or French baguette is an excellent choice, as it has a crisp crust and a soft, airy interior that’s perfect for holding garlic butter.
- you can use others though like leftover Challah that has been sliced as well for a bit of a sweetness.
- Fresh garlic is essential for that authentic garlic flavor. Use as much or as little as you like, depending on your taste preferences.
- Unsalted butter is the base but oil and salt is an alternative for dairy free. Butter should be softened to room temperature for easy mixing.
- Enhance the flavor with a combination of fresh or dried herbs like parsley, oregano, basil, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- While optional, a sprinkle of grated Parmesan or mozzarella cheese can take your toasted garlic bread to the next level.
You can add some heat like we did with our Garlic Bread with Roasted Garlic too with red pepper flakes or cayenne.

Garlic Bread Ingredients
- Start by finely mincing or crushing the garlic cloves. Mix them thoroughly with the softened butter, herbs, and seasonings. Adjust the quantities to your taste.
- Use sliced Italian bread or cut baguette into slices. Rolls can be cut in half lengthwise to create two even halves.
- Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread. Make sure to get it into all the nooks and crannies.
- If you’re making cheesy garlic bread, like we do to serve with our Chicken Breast in a Toaster Oven, sprinkle it evenly over the garlic butter coated bread.
Cooking Garlic Bread in a Toaster Oven
- Preheating Oven is important, to 400°F on the toast or bake setting. Preheating ensures even cooking and a perfectly crisp exterior.
- Toasting Time will take about 5-8 minutes, or until the bread turns golden brown and the cheese (if added) is bubbly and lightly browned.
- Broiling is a setting you could use for the last minute or two of cooking, works well if you add cheese at the end.
- Serve Hot immediately with your Salmon Toaster Oven and let it cool for a minute or two. Then, slice and serve immediately while it’s still warm and the cheese is gooey.
In addition to spreading garlic butter, layer slices of mozzarella or provolone cheese between the bread halves for an oozy, cheesy delight. You can elevate the flavor by adding fresh herbs like chopped parsley, rosemary, or thyme to your garlic butter mixture.
Garlic bread is an easy side dish, and making it in your toaster oven allows you to enjoy its mouthwatering goodness at home with minimal effort.
I like 400 degrees F so it gets golden brown and toasty pretty quick. Stay close because it only takes a few minutes and you don’t want it to burn. It is best if you add butter before toasting so it can bake in and give it even more flavor.
If you have leftovers from the night before wrapped up you can heat them up again in the toaster oven!! It is best to preheat the machine at 400 so it cooks evenly. Lay down with garlic butter side facing up and heat for 3 minutes or so until warmed all the way thru.
Tips to Make the Perfect Garlic Bread
- Add a dash of crushed red pepper flakes for a hint of heat in your garlic bread. Spread a layer of sundried tomato pesto on the bread before adding the garlic butter for a burst of tangy flavor.
- You can even use two slices and make Grilled Cheese in Toaster Oven with this garlic outside for added wow!!
- Ensure an even distribution of garlic mixture suggested below or Cowboy Butter Recipe across the bread.
- Use the freshest ingredients available for the best flavor. Fresh garlic and real butter make a significant difference.
- Keep an eye on it while to prevent burning. The cooking time can vary depending on the thickness of the bread.
- It is at its best when served hot and fresh to remain crispy garlic bread especially if you added parmesan cheese to the top.

- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 pinch salt and pepper
Instructions

- Mix together garlic, room temp. butter and any seasonings you like. Spread on one side of the bread.
- Wrap tray with aluminum foil and set on top with buttered side facing up. Slide into the bottom rack of preheated machine. (can sprinkle a bit of cheese on top if desired too)
