Can eggs be deep fried?

They can and they are beyond wonderful. When you are looking for a party appetizer you want something that will be memorable and not โ€œnormalโ€ so these fit the bill perfectly. (affiliate links present)

If you have ever breaded meat before this is no different than that really. You will want to make a bunch of 5-5-5 Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs first. Submerge into ice water to loosen the shells and peel. Prep them as you would if you were going to make these without frying by slicing in half and removing the yolks.

Ingredients

  • You make the eggs filling
  • With mayonnaise mustard and some rice wine vinegar if you want added pop. That will be set aside at first.
  • The way you get them crispy is to dunk each one into flour, then into whisked egg
  • Coat with bread crumbs or Panko so you are ready to fry in oil once it is hot.

What is deviled egg filling made of?

To make this you just use the back of a fork to smash yolks in bowl, add enough mayo mustard and vinegar so it is wet like paste. Taste, adjust flavor to your liking. Spoon into a pastry bag or freezer bag, snip off end and fill middle of fried eggs to make deviled. Sprinkle tops with paprika, diced parsley or dill.

How to Fry Deviled Eggs

  1. First thing first, make eggs hard boiled. Peel, slice in half lengthwise, remove yolks and set on paper towels to remove moisture from the outside.
  2. Heat a pot half filled with oil over medium high heat until it reaches 350 degrees F.
  3. In one bowl add flour, in another whisk 2 eggs, in 3rd put in Panko breadcrumbs.
  4. One at a time submerge into the flour to coat outside, then into the egg, lift up to allow excess to fall off, then into the Panko to coat all sides well. Set on a plate until all are coated well.
  5. When oil is hot enough, gently lower down each one and fry for about 3 minutes or until it is golden brown.
  6. Use a slotted spoon to remove and place on several paper towels to absorb excess oil.
