Free Bugs Coloring Pages

The ones you see above can be downloaded below. We also have a lot of other Free Insect Coloring Pages here that are a bit easier for younger ages. With these the pictures are already displayed and just needs to be color matched.

Division Color by Number has some bugs featured but would be more appropriate for older students in the third grade or older. With match problems they first need to solve in order to match the answer to the correct color. I always recommend decorating with crayons either way. Markers will leak thru to the back and could get on the table.

  • With kids I prefer that they have a smaller box of crayons so there are fewer choices, but enough. 😉

Butterfly Coloring Sheet

You may want these just for a rainy day with kids at home. If you are a Teacher you could download the PDF and use them over and over with your students year after year. Another idea is to laminate these and use wet erase markers to color them. That way you use fewer copies but can be reused.

Throwing a butterfly birthday party and want a few activities that don’t cost you a thing??? Use the one below and can have this as a key if you think people will want to compare when they are done to make sure they did it correctly.

Ladybug Picture to Color

Same thing goes with ladybugs!! My girls always loved these and you can make Ladybug Cupcakes with it for a fun get together too. There are lots of interesting bugs out there that can be pretty, and not always pesky right?

Learning about animals in the classroom? You could do an additional writing activity on the back after they decorate the front. Learn facts about each of these beforehand. Write them on the board and talk about things like where they live, what each one eats, what time of year they are most prevalent, etc….

For more advanced kids/students you can have them write a story about the picture on the front. Using some of the information they learned, make a funny story about it with characters names and then they can share with one another when done.

How can you make a mystery picture?

This is a great example of a mystery picture here where there is a color key at the top of each one. If you wanted to make one of your own, use graphing paper with the little boxes already present. Create a key like you see above here to compare.

Time needed: 5 minutes

  1. Print

    Click on this link for bug printables and choose which one(s) you want. If you want them all click print. For one particular change all to the page you want and then print.

  2. Color

    Use crayons or colored pencils to match the number to that correct color listed on the top of the page.
