Ninja Creami Recipes
I am sure you’ve noticed that I share A LOT of Ninja Foodi recipes here on The Typical Mom blog. When they came out with this new ice cream maker they sent it to us to try out. It was so fun!
I mean we loved the Ninja Foodi Grill we got too but dessert is our jam. My teens got to creating as soon as they opened the box you see here.
- YOU can ORDER YOUR OWN HERE TOO!!
First off I will say that I’d never share something I didn’t love, even if I got it free of charge. We have tried other ways to make ice cream at home in bags and they have required a lot more preparations.
With the Ninja ice cream machine you just mix the basic ingredients together, pour it into the containers provided and freeze!
Once that is nice and hard you’re ready to mix. Well, not you, the machine is ready to do it’s thing. There is literally NO effort on your part other than the initial mixing and pressing a button, maybe two.
Inside the box there is an ice cream cookbook that comes with it free of charge. Therefore there is no searching the internet to find out how to make homemade chocolate ice cream, vanilla, etc… Here is how you get started once you order your own unit:
How to Use a Ninja Creami
- Unwrap and wash the items included in your box.
- Mix ingredients necessary together in a bowl. Refer to Creami cookbook.
- Pour into the container with a handle provided with your machine.
- Put lid on tight and store in your freezer overnight, 24 hours is ideal.
Then it is time to get mixing!
Ninja Creamy Yogurt
Once your pint is frozen solid you’ll want to take the plastic lid off and replace it with this one with the mixer underneath.
- Lock mixer lid on tight.
- Place the closed container underneath (kinda’ looks like a coffee maker) and lock into place.
- Turn your machine on and press the ice cream button.
- Wait a minute and then the metal piece will slowly move itself down as it mixes, mixes, mixes.
Then your rock solid mixture will be churned into a smooth consistency. Lift that lid off and enjoy as is or you could add in mix ins like chocolate chips etc… Freeze until harder and make Fried Chicken Ice Cream out of it!
Ninja Creami Chocolate Ice Cream
Homemade Ice Cream Machine
It really is that easy. You can make things like this simple chocolate style, a Creami milkshake (instead of hauling out your blender), vegan and dairy free ice cream and even homemade sorbet!
We actually don’t own a blender so this was a fun treat too for my kids. They made strawberry milkshakes with store bought ice cream and milk as well as a smoothie with frozen blueberries, crushed ice and yogurt!

All of these recipes are for the Creami, and I have the Creami Deluxe! How would you change thd recipe for the Deluxe??
i made my first batch of vanilla ice cream the other day. Came out way too soft. It was in the freezer for two days before processing. Can you stop the processing, i think 4 minutes is too long
Recipe provided is great. The only thing I really have to say about Creami, is that it technically isn’t an ice cream maker. It’s actually really only just an ice cream mixer. Because all the “ice cream” is combined and frozen outside of the machine. Then “churned” 24hrs later. So I feel like to great a true vanilla ice cream, I still needed an actual ice cream churn. But otherwise it’s a great appliance. (Quite loud when in use, too)
Can honey be substituted for agave
I would think so
I just got a Ninja Creami for Christmas 2021 and it’s Fabulous and Ice Creams are Great and Delicious . I soften the Cream Cheese for 10 Seconds in Microwave then add sugar, Vanilla and Stir , I add in Cocoa and Slowly Whisk in Milk and Cream until Thick and Pour into Creami Pint and Freeze . Vanilla, Strawberry and Chocolate are Delicious . This Machine is Worth it . I made some Sorbets as Well . Ok , it is Noisy but You get used to it . Tip: I let the PInt sit out about 10 Min until Soft and doesn’t need Remixing . They taste better than Store Brands . I’m Anxious about trying Melon Sorbet . Can I do Watermelon Because of the Water ??? , Can I try Ricotta Cheese for Milk to make Canoli or Yogurt ???
I haven’t tried that yet
I think I must be missing something in step 1 of your recipe when you say to mix the heated cocoa and cream cheese mixture with the sugar and vanilla “until smooth like icing” because this seems impossible. When I think of icing, I think of smooth and creamy, but this mixture is no where near this consistency no matter how much I mix and ‘spread’ it in the bowl. The tablespoon of cream cheese and teaspoon of vanilla just doesn’t seem like enough to mix with the sugar and cocoa to get them to the creamy stage. Am I missing something with the ingredients? I will say, though, that even though the consistency isn’t smooth, after I mix in the cream and milk I heat all of it up in the microwave for about 2 minutes so that it all melts in together and it still turns out delicious!
Hi can I use Swerve instead of regular sugar, I’m diabetic and need to watch my sugar.
Thanks,
Linda
@Linda Forslund, yes. The cookbook that comes with it also has a substitute guide in it.
I’ve got a Creami on its way! Can’t wait to try this. And can you tell me more about how your kids made the smoothie? Did they mix the frozen blueberries and crushed ice with unfrozen yogurt then use the machine? Or did they mix that all and freeze the pint then used a certain setting? Thanks!!
They just added vanilla ice cream with frozen fruit and thinned out with a little milk. You could use vanilla yogurt alternatively too. Use just like a blender essentially.
