Foot Soak to Remove Dead Skin
- Warm water, enough to fill a basin or tub
- 1/2 cup of this scrub or plain epsom salt
- Baking soda (1/4 cup)
- Lemon juice or essential oils
What is the best thing to soak your feet in to remove dead skin?
This mixture!! Fill a basin or tub with warm water. Make sure the water is comfortably warm, but not too hot, to avoid discomfort or burns. Add Epsom salt or this scrub to the warm water. Both will help to soften the skin and promote exfoliation by removing dead skin cells.
What can I use instead of Epsom salt to soak my feet?
You can use sea salt, the one that is really large pieces like if you were making ice cream at home.
- If desired, add baking soda to the foot soak. Baking soda has natural exfoliating properties and can help soften rough patches of skin on the feet.
- Stir the ingredients together in the warm water until they are well combined.
- Soak your feet for 15-20 minutes, allowing the warm water and ingredients to soften the skin and loosen dead skin cells.
- After soaking, use a pumice stone to gently exfoliate the feet and remove any remaining dead skin. Focus on rough patches and calluses, but be gentle to avoid irritation or injury.
- Rinse your feet with clean water and pat them dry with a towel.
- Apply a moisturizing cream or lotion to hydrate and nourish the skin after exfoliation.
