Pretzel Peanut Butter Cup Recipe

During the holidays it is all about bite sized treats right? Having the kids in the kitchen wanting to help is great but some things they can’t do. This one they can and it will keep them busy.

You literally need 2 things, Reese’s peanut butter cups and pretzels. The square waffle shaped ones are best and if you have a peanut allergy you can use Hershey’s Kisses instead. We use them to make a copycat Dot’s mustard pretzels at home too.

How long does it take to melt Reeses?

If you are setting on top of a pretzel using mini peanut butter cups you only need 2 minutes in the oven. This is a popular sweet and savory treat, bite sized, that is the best party appetizer ever. For the regular size you would need closer to 3 minutes to melt just the outside to get it to stick.

Melted Reeses with Pretzels

Have them unwrap each one and put them in a bowl. Then line up the pretzels on a cookie sheet. Lay a candy on top of each one. Believe me they will think this is beyond fun! Plus it only takes 2 min. in the oven so they are ready really fast so they can try a few when they are done.

How to Make Reeses Pretzel Bites

  • Start off by spreading all the square pretzels on a cookie sheet in one layer
  • Unwrap all the Reese’s cups & put in a bowl ahead of time.
  • Then place the larger side of the peanut butter cup down on to each pretzel
  • Put in the oven at about 200 degrees for literally just 2 min. or so until just melted, watch them closely
  • Pull out of the oven and place a 2nd square pretzel on top, let set until chocolate is hard again & enjoy!

We have a printable recipe at the bottom of this post you can keep on hand too. If you have a cookie baking day this one is great to throw together when little ones get hangry while they’re waiting, and waiting.
