Anything goes when it is the holidays. That especially goes for treats! The easier something is to make the more likely I will make them too. These holiday peppermint stick stirrers are a great addition to a coffee or hot chocolate bar at a party. Wrap them up in a clear bag and they make a really cute gift idea for Teachers and anyone who loves a hot drink during the holiday season. Let me show you how to make them. Peppermint Stick Marshmallow Stirrers

My kids (ok and I) love hot chocolate, and anything peppermint so this is a great treat at Christmas time. It is easy to make so it is also a fun activity to do with your kids. Chocolate Snowflake Stirrers were first when my girls were into that popular Disney movie. Then I went on with something a bit easier to make.

We have made these for Teachers in the past, and they’re a hit! Really inexpensive to make but they bring a smile to anyone’s face who sees them.

How to Make Peppermint Stick Stirrers

You will need jumbo marshmallows, yes they have those now, peppermint sticks and any toppings you will want. I cut caramels into 6ths, M&Ms and sprinkles this time but really use anything you’d like. You will also need white chocolate.

I have melted chocolate chips but really the BEST option is Wilton Candy Melts. They melt smoother and stay melted longer, but if you don’t have those chips will work. Melt on 50% power in the microwave for 30 second intervals stirring and checking every time.

Just cover the bottom and use a spoon to cover half of the marshmallow and then add your toppings. Set on a piece of parchment paper to cool and they will become hard and ready after maybe 10 minutes. Easy!

While you’re at it you can make other holiday treats like our microwave peppermint fudge.

I found these clear bags at Walmart for $.99 for 20 of them and some $1 ribbon too. It’s a really easy gift idea to make that your children can participate in as well.

  • 1 c chocolate chips
  • 1/4 tsp coconut oil
  • sprinkles

Instructions

  • Push a large marshmallow on to the end of each peppermint stick not allowing it to go all the way thru, about 3/4 of the way so it stays on securely.

  • Hold stick and gently dip the end of each marshmallow into the melted chocolate and then lay on a piece of parchment paper.
