How to Reheat Steak in Oven

If you have leftovers you can use this method, somewhat, to warm and enjoy once again the next day. Now I would make a fresh side dish like our Roasted Red Cabbage Steaks at the same time on a different rack to make a nutritious meal served together.

  1. Preheat your oven to 250° F or 120 degrees C. A low temperature helps when reheating beef in the oven to not dry and overcook it.
  2. Remove leftover steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes to allow meat to come closer to room temperature, which helps it reheat more evenly.
  3. Place on a baking sheet or oven-safe dish. Add a pat of butter or drizzle of olive oil to the top to add moisture with salt and pepper.
  4. Cover the loosely with aluminum foil. This helps retain moisture and prevents them from drying out.
  5. Place the baking sheet or dish in the preheated oven.

Reheat in the oven for about 15-20 minutes, depending on thickness, or until it reaches your desired level of warmth in the thickest part. Less is more to achieve a juicy steak. This is whole, if you want to know How to Cook Steak Tips in the Oven we have that too, bite sized.

Can I cook steak in the oven at 350?

Yes, for a bit longer. I have tested a lot of temperatures and I kinda’ prefer 380 F though. For something with a lot of connective tissue like a Skirt Steak in Oven that needs high for a short time I actually just use the broil feature start to finish. That is not really in the same category as a T-bone or Strip because of it’s toughness.
