Equipment
1
Bowl
Ingredients
1
cup
ketchup
1/2
cup
brown sugar
1
tbsp
white vinegar
1
tbsp
Worcestershire sauce
1
tbsp
honey
1
pinch
salt
(and pepper if you like) to taste
1/4
tsp
red pepper flakes
optional, if you want it spicy
Instructions
In a bowl combine all ingredients except spices. Taste. Sprinkle in salt and pepper to your liking, stirring in between each add in.
If you want it a bit spicy add a bit of red pepper flakes, chili powder, jalapeno powder or drop of Sriracha. Stir, taste and adjust heat as desired.
Spoon this on the top the last 10 minutes when you bake your meatloaf so it can bake on and caramelize a bit.
* If you want a deeper richer flavor, before adding to top of meat, heat over medium in a pan to dissolve sugar, stirring for 15 minutes.
