Mix half of the flour thoroughly with salt and spices. Pour the second half of the flour into a bowl, stir with the baking powder and add the egg. Pour beer into your bowl and whisk into a thick batter. Heat the air fryer to 380 F. for 5 min.
It should be thick enough not to drip off a spoon, but to drip slowly. Dry the pollock fillet with napkins and roll in the seasoned flour on all sides. Transfer fish into dish with thick batter and coat on both sides. Lift up so excess can drip off.
Place fish back into the flour and coat on outside to avoid the batter sticking to the parchment. Line an air fryer basket with parchment and spray with olive oil. Place the battered fish in the air fryer basket.
Spray the battered fish with olive oil. If this is not done, the flour will remain dry on the surface of the batter. Bake for 12 minutes. Flip to the other side, spray with olive oil again on tops and bake for another 2-3 minutes.
