Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish and set it aside. In a large mixing bowl, combine the peeled, cored and thinly sliced apples, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, all-purpose flour, and lemon juice. Toss the apple slices until they are well coated with the sugar and spices.
Transfer the apple mixture into the prepared casserole dish and spread it out evenly. Sprinkle the cubed unsalted butter evenly over the top of the apple mixture.
In a separate bowl, prepare the graham cracker topping. Crush the graham crackers until you have fine crumbs, and then mix them with melted butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir until the mixture resembles wet sand.
Evenly distribute the graham cracker topping over the apple mixture in the casserole dish, covering it completely. Cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil, and place it in the preheated oven.
Bake for 30 minutes covered, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the topping is golden brown, and the apples are tender when pierced with a fork.
Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
