Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a bowl, stir together cake mix and oats. Add melted butter and mix until you have a crumbly texture.
Spread the cherry pie topping evenly in a 9 x 13 baking dish. Top with the cake mixture. (I used my hands to crumble it over top).
Bake for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Top with ice cream or whipped cream
