Gooey cake mix butter cookies and cream cheese taste just like butter cake but faster to bake and cheaper. Chewy and tender crinkle cookies you'll love.
In a medium bowl add butter, vanilla, egg and cream cheese and mix with an electric mixer on medium low until the batter is smooth and fluffy.
Next, add the cake mix and stir until fully incorporated and no dry ingredients are left. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to stiffen up. Using your hands, grab a small bit of dough and roll into ping pong size balls.
Now place the balls into a bowl of powdered sugar and roll them around to coat. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper 2” apart, for wider cookies, gently press down on the tops to slightly flatten.
Place cookies into a preheated oven and bake at 350 F for 9-11 minutes until the edges are lightly brown and cracking.
Cool cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before moving to a wire rack to finish cooling. Sprinkle with extra powdered sugar if desired!
