Here is a way to create a cheap bento box right at home for under $5. Really easy to do with an item from Walmart and a great road trip snack box.
I am always looking for easy and cheap ways to throw snacks into my backpack and head out for the day with my 3 kids……did I stress CHEAP and EASY! I have mastered the “throw and go” with many day tripping items (will list below), but this one has really been a lifesaver! Take a look at my cheap bento box creation, finger food containers never had it so good!
So I was strolling through Walmart looking for a cheap container for my kids’ rainbow loom bands…you can see the idea I got and how I contained them really cheap here when I thought of another use for this inexpensive bead container!
I grabbed the 3 you see here at Walmart, you can get them thru Amazon here as well, “fancied them up” with a permanent marker to create a cheap bento box for each child. If you are not familiar with what bento means it’s just a large box with smaller compartments inside to fill with different foods. You don’t have to use that term, just came to mind when I saw them. Great for little fingers to grab snacks and create a smorgasbord of sorts for them.
The one I found came with these dividers you could slide into the slots to make them smaller or larger spaces, some don’t. Either way this is a great fill it and go idea for snack time on the go, in the car, or to keep them busy when you are going somewhere where they need to keep occupied.
