No one I know is going to celebrate New Year’s eve as we did before kids & before we were married……let’s get real and talk about what to do now that we are toting around little ones shall we??!!
If you are looking to do some celebrating at home, our style, you can watch and celebrate New Year’s Eve with the kids by watching the ball drop live here or watching it at 9pm our time on ABC or another channel at home.
Our little ones can stay up until 9 and doesn’t put them into meltdown mode the next day by trying to stay up ’til midnight. Grab some poppers at the store, party hats, and celebrate “in style” right at home with the festivities going on in New York on the t.v. and you can do it all in your jammies. 😉
If you’re looking to get out and go somewhere local to Temecula, there are a few things going on that are appropriate for kids. The Grape drop celebrates the 9pm New Year with activities for kids, face painting, and more! You can check out the UTube video that was recorded of the Grape drop 2012 here.
Pennypickle’s Workshop in Old Town is celebrating New Years eve early and you can purchase tickets in advance for this event here.
Celebrate the New Year on ice at Temecula on Ice in front of City Hall this year! The ice rink is open ’til 10pm, so celebrate the 9pm East Coast New Years while ice skating in Temecula! You can read more about Temecula on Ice here.
Pre New Years Eve celebrations are fun too, and you can celebrate the holidays at the Temecula Civic Center from 7pm-8:15pm every Thursday Friday and Saturday evening. Holiday bells ring, music and a light show light up the area at 7pm and 8pm. Spend the evening having dinner, window shopping, and enjoying Old Town Temecula, then hop on over and see the light show throughout the rest of December. 41000 Main St., Temecula, CA 92590
If you happen to get away for the later part of the evening, Pechanga is having a fun New Years celebration as well. If you’re lucky you could celebrate the 9pm New Years, and then hop over to Pechanga for some Mommy and Daddy fun. 😉
If you’re in or around San Diego for New Years Eve you can check out their calendar of events here, and if you are looking for some fireworks there Sea World puts on a great show at 8:50 and you can see them for free as they project them over Mission Bay. Just bring a picnic, park there, bring chairs and blankets, and have an afternoon and evening enjoying that area and watch the fireworks that night.
If you’re looking for a fun activity on New Year’s (or before), here is one….don’t throw out that Christmas tree yet!!
