It’s always great to get together with your girlfriends…who else can you be completely open and honest with about the most embarrassing moments as a mom right?? We had brunch together recently and I came away with 5 easy tips to a healthier you (and me) in the new year…let me know what you think. Special thanks goes out to Renew Life Probiotics for sponsoring this post and brunch so I could share some tips with all of you.

We all need time with our friends! Yes, talking to your partner is great but being able to lay it all out there with other moms who “just get it” when it comes to putting yourself last All. The. Time. makes you feel like you’re not alone. I get it. I’ve done it. I put myself last, but this year is a new start. Now that I am 40 the small things I’ve neglected in regards to my health are starting to effect me and it has to change. Not only do my kids deserve it, but I do too. I deserve to feel great, to look great, and there are a few simple things I can do to get myself closer to that goal in the new year…we talked about a few of them this afternoon.

We all agreed that we’ve all had times where we felt bloated, tired, and a bit stopped up (let’s just be honest shall we). Well, there is one thing I did incorporate into my daily routine recently that has helped me avoid a few of these issues…and we talked about that and much more this afternoon.

Here are 5 easy tips to a healthier you:

  1. Drink LOTS of water (find a cute bottle & keep it on your desk)
  2. Exercise (even a little is better than nothing)
  3. Take time for yourself (even if it’s just a 30 min. bath)
  4. Consume healthier foods (start slowly, replace 1 thing a month so you’re not overwhelmed)
  5. Take 1 Renew Life Ultimate Flora Probiotics capsule each day (super easy, take in the morning or at night)

I’ve worked on #1 and #5 this year and may I say it has really made a difference….this year I’m on to 2-4! We all know water is good for us, but when I really focused on finishing 48 ounces a day I not only saw a difference in my skin, but my energy went up, and my headaches went away. I incorporated Renew Life Probiotics into my daily regime when I researched and found that it was great to maintain great feminine health….but then found out it did much more than that.

It’s funny how sometimes you discover a product for one area in your life, and in turn it ends up becoming so much more…that’s what probiotics did for me (well all of us). That bloated feeling I had quite regularly seemed to diminish after taking it for a few weeks, and found out that many women have digestive/gut issues such as myself but we never put 2 and 2 together and realize that keeping our digestive tract healthy can positively effect the rest of our bodies and minds. Call it being to busy to focus on ourselves, but I will say that this small change helped me so much that I pulled my husband in and he now takes one each day too. Although he’s a man he too has had gut/bloating issues for years and tells others what a difference it has made in the way he feels on a daily basis.

There are some foods/drinks with probiotics in them, but to get enough into your diet to support your immune health one capsule from Renew Life Probiotics a day is what you need. It really helps your immune system when you have a healthy gut! With 3 kids in school they are bound to bring something home, and let’s just say with our busy schedules….we don’t have time to be sick. lol I had no idea that 70% of the immune system is located in the intestinal tract. It just makes sense to support our immunity in any way we can, and we’ve incorporated it into our children’s daily regime too.

Now I’m not an expert, “just” a mom who can share her opinion on what has been beneficial to our family. With that said, I can say that I’ve told many friends about our experiences, and I’m a cheerleader in incorporating anything that is so simple to take and helps you in so many ways.

Have you tried probiotics?? What are your health goals for this year??
